My sister-in-law is originally from Tokyo. When she and my brother had their civil ceremony before their big Shinto wedding ceremony, they had lunch at Denny’s. Mikey you NEED to check out some of the other Family Resturant chains in japan! You'd love them and I think they'd make for a great little mini-series! I HIGHLY recommend checking out these great family restaurant or "famiresu"... 1.) "Saizeriya" it's an Italian- style family restaurant chain that has prices that will you make do double take (in a good way!) good food and almost unbelievable low prices! This is supposedly where all the highschool/college aged kids go hang out because of the good food and cheap prices. 2.)"Bikkuri Donkey" (Great Hamburger steak!), 3.) Bamiyan (It's Chinese style family restaurant chain with AYCE hot pot, gyoza, Buns, and other goodies!) 4.) Royal Host (I've heard good things about this one! It's more of a "higher-end" famiresu with the prices being a bit higher (well, high for a famiresu that is, so still a bargain compared to regular restaurants) but supposedly is well worth it!

Everything is cooked from frozen, shelf stable, or liquid processed (looking at you, carton eggs). Its all loaded with sodium, greasy, and unhealthy to the point you'll leave feeling borderline sick. You may get sick from the poor cleanliness standards. Dennys is the place you end up when everywhere else is closed and you havent eaten because literally every plan you've made that day has fallen through, so you just need something hot that you didnt have to cook yourself. That Japanese Dennys is this by comparison, not joking, makes me feel cheap and kind of gross. Like how little American companies put into American quality is beyond disgusting - its shameful.
