Balancing street food and mom n' pop joints alongside ritzy places like the ones in this video is a large part of your appeal to me, Mike. Been a fan for years and between this and how classy and positive you keep things, I anticipate watching for a long time to come. Keep up the good work!

Mikey, I'm right there with you on refried beans!!! They are my favorite part of my meal when I go out to eat Mexican food. I live in Southern California, and let me tell you, I've tried them from all the Mexican restaurants, and I definitely have my favorites. When they use lard, it gives it the best flavor in my opinion.

Amazing video, we lived in polenco my partner and I with a wonderful Colombian,Portuguese,Mexican and French mix household as we are travelling central and South America. It was incredible I can’t wait to return to Mexico City. But, for now, Guatemala here we come! We have so been to cancun, Tulum, Isla mujeres, Oaxaca, SAN JOSE ( best place yet ) and was in puerto Escondido for 1 month. Currently in San cris and onto Guatemala + Colombia. You should visit these places! So excited to know you were just around the corner!

Thanks for always describing what the food tastes like so well. You’d be surprised how many food reviews go “it’s good….. oh this ones really good” and don’t explain what the actual flavours, balance and texture are like. This is exactly why we can trust your judgement spending $200+ on a meal.

The umami flavor really brings out the umami flavor. The contrast between the umami and slightly umami is very interesting. So many rich and umami flavors going on here. So bright and filled with umami. The umami elements after each umami bite really brings out the umami flavors.

People complaining about the price when this same course would be like $1,500+ in LA or San Francisco. I'm not saying that any food has the right to be upwards of $40 bucks but sheesh people even a person with a regular job can go get it, where as a person with a regular job would never justify paying what LA or San Francisco would charge.
