This song has a way of finding it's way deep into a dark, secret place in my heart where it finds a heavy door and, with the slightest touch, causes it to creak open where the bright and warm energy of my childhood starts to seep out. It scares me, how much it makes me feel. It will live there forever.

A profoundly beautiful illustration. Memory and sound, like memory and smell are linked powerfully together. This music might have promised/evoked-in the listener (especially at a young age, I was 8 years old when I received this game in 1997, I do not know how old you were) so many things: a place far away lost to time, the realm of the spirit, the ethos of an ancient warrior, the stirring of then un-word-able feelings...it goes on. The passage of time pushes these deep and meaningful things to the periphery as life's redundancies and traumas stack up, yet they can be unlocked suddenly with mementos. It is then our instinct to hold onto the feelings and memories released with all our strength. Without them, our unavoidable return to mud only beings quicker even as we continue to be animated. One of the deepest tragedies of our plight is that these things are lost when each of us perish.
