EtherealG I really want to hack into blizz server just to see how many Lyra have ever been shadow casted. A quick recap how this happened: firelands portal spam Shadowcaster, cabal courier discover manic soul caster which copied shadowcaster so that it could be drawn and used on Lyra which was generated by un'goro pack which was given by Elise.

I play a variation, I just feel just by looking at it this list is a bit bad.Needs more freeze effects to survive..Elise aint needed, the problem of this deck is to reach late game, not have more grind/value.Anyways kudos for another non cookie cutter fun deck.

True, but he still needs to get lucky and not fight half the decks on the ladder in this case.Although to be fair, he isnt on the ladder anymore, so maybe people play more fun controlling decks where he is.

5:27 I think Firelands Portaling him instead of his minion was a huge mistake. You needed to kill his 5/5, and force him to either get your block or kill your minion. If he just gets your block, your minion gets some extra damage in, more than making up for the 5 damage you lost by not hitting him with Firelands Portal. In fact, you got Red Mana Wyrm, which was probably one of the best minions you could have gotten there, so you probably win the game if you just kill his minion.

If you're so mad about quest rogue, then play something that counters it. I'm actually very happy with the way this meta has turned out. It's much more refreshing than recent metas. Quest rogue is actually quite skill intensive although having good openings can reduce the required skill component.

I'm also happy with the way this meta has turned out, but Quest Rogue is definitely the worst part of it (arguably tied with the survival of Pirate Warrior into Un'Goro). I don't care that Quest Rogue is skill intensive, it's a deck with extremely polarized match-ups, which is really bad for the game. Freeze Mage is also skill intensive, and it's also a horrible deck to play against. Like, even when I was playing Control Warrior way back and auto-winning against Freeze, I still hated playing against it, 'cause of its polarizing nature. Basically, Freeze Mage, Quest Rogue and Jade Druid I think are the worst deck archetypes ever to emerge from HS (at least post-WOTOG).

EtherealG well said. It doesn't matter for me if I'm favoured against quest rogue/pirate warrior or not (by playing counters), these decks make for the most unfun matches ever. It's the same fallacy as when Ben Brode argued that there is no problem with pirate warrior in the previous meta, because statistics, winrates and Fibonacci has this really cool control warrior that counters it. Regardless of these meaningless arguments (the negative winrate argument is played heavily by defenders of quest rogue), this and pirate warrior just sucks out all my fun and energy, and after 2-3 of these in a row, I'm basically done with playing Hearthstone for the day, whether I won or lost.

Pirate warrior duel is a very fun matchup and the aggro decks is what keeps everyone from playing quest rouge!

That second game was very badly played. You should have saved the burn instead of wasting 10 damage removing minions. You were at almost 30 life. Congrats for the win anyway!
