watched that clip three times, I think it's a bug. Started as a 3/1, then murloc warleader made it a 5/2, then warleader died. Should have gone back to 3/1 not 3/2 right? It gained one health from no buff? Maybe it was a glitch because it had +1/+1 from grimscale chum the play before?

Actually, when a minion gets buffed and they lose the buff, they keep the health increase, like a heal, as long as it isn't above its maximum health.

Lets say you have 3 2/2's, and you play a stormwind, then they become 3/3's and then lets say the opponent holy novas, so you now have 3 3/1's and a 6/4, then they play a shadoword death, they 3/1's should die since they are losing a 1/1 into becoming a 2/0. But the game isn't set that way, so the 3/1's become 2/1's. I believe that it is the interaction of buffs with base health, and that it is intentional for it to happen so that minions cant die by losing their buff. In the way of the 3/1 losing it's buff wont die. So they have to play shadow word first then nova.

Max health buffs are also current health buffs. Basically, minions keep track of and preserve their health rather than their damage taken.
