No but what if he topdecks IceBlock next turn, then Arcanologist is dead in his hand, he's trying to continue to thin his deck to draw his burn.

Oh ok I see, you wanna set up a ping over 3 turns for guaranteed lethal with the two ice blocks, that makes sense, I think strifecro should've pinged at the 15:08 turn as well, ur correct tho, u would've won two turns earlier.

Yes, you're right. Strife was too far ahead for it to matter anyway, but he did give him another turn for some kind of miracle.

no way you have the time to play that much shit in an aggro meta - yeah some games you run into a deck that can outheal you and you basically auto lose, but they are way less common than aggro games

That is a valid point you make, but think of the following.What are the common aggro decks? we have druid, PW, hunter, murloc paladin ( the aggro one with way more murlocs than the necesarry ones), and ok some other things like token shaman with bloodlust or aggro mage, but the top ones are those 4. The thing is that while the extra draw (which is what u have in place of the extra pyro/antonidas) makes it easier to get the swing cards needed for those matchups ( mainly board clear), antonidas can simply win the game after you clear the board just once. Many times versus hunter it isnt enough that you clear the board, u need something to go with that, and alex sometimes is too expensive, while a turn 7 free antonidas is auto win, even vs pirate warrior which is considered a bad matchup. So the question is how valuable is more consistent board clearing versus 1) auto win after board clearing and 2) extra chance vs control ( quest warrior is debatable cause dirty rat, but antonidas greatly increases ur chance vs control mage/ jade druid/sometimes paladin).Main reason i say this is cause I find the current list without the novice enough to guarantee the board clear. Early this season i went from 5 to legend with a freeze mage list ( EU) that ran -2 novice -1 ice barrier +antonidas+ volcanic potion+acolyte, and the times where antonidas simply won the game after living mana --> volcanic potion and doomsayer ---> antonidas, or being left alive by a jade druid or even a pirate warrior are countless

Also we have to take into account the turns where you have all needed cards in your hand but u absolutely have to freeze board and u dont have a doomsayer, so u have to spend 3 mana for nova and cant alex him or pyro him, there comes antonidas where you freeze, get a fireball and develop a threat, making it possible that you dont have to alex at all. The versatility + survival that antonidas brings is way too much i find.
