have the commadoz found their 7th guy yet? i don't think these guys have lost a battle- they re just getting them battle checks man. good for them- the scene needs a star crew- star presence in order for it to become monetised and a real industry. in order for the industry to grow and bcome like skating- it needs to become monetised- and corporate iszed- sad but true- and necessary for dancers to make a living. its necessary . i don't see why dancers can't have a line of sneakers- like nike cortez commandoz, or nike air hong 10's , and there be brands of compression dancing gear , or dancing clothes. yoga has figured out how to make money and create brands - and hence yoa instructors are making money- and able to do it full time. dance needs to go down that same road- and i think people like dyne and hong 10 and ronnie need to lead that movement. btw they also need to scratch the yours/ours system. its plains stupid- takes too long to process- slow as shit- and takes away from the live feeling of the jam- makes it into a mathemicalical equation rather than a visceral experience. very asian thing to do- to add up dance elements to create a score. just do it the way its always been done- the stronger set wins the round. easy as. never been a problem before- why make it a problem now. instead dyzee- spend ur energy on commercialising the culture- and making a brand out of the7 commandoz- the way that jabbawockeez and supercerw have. and the way kinjaz are trying to do. tis the only way for this industry to become a professional one- then we can see dancers be pro dancers- and the dancing will then improve. just sick and tired and sad of dancers having to quit and get real jobs because the life dosent pay enough . that sad to me. the top 50 , in any other sport, art or entertainment culture is able to make a decent living- except for dancers. thats what the energy of the cultural leaders should be focused on doing. meeting with brands and monetising their talents.
