I am going through the hardest time of my life at the moment and really really struggling with my mental health along with addiction. I cant remember the last time i laughed... like properly laughed, i started to forget what it felt like and i kid you not iv been watching him on KZbin for a couple of hours and my belly is hurting iv been laughing that much i have tears rolling down my face. The kind of laughs where you hold your breath and the laugh turns silent cause u can't catch your breath hahaha!!! This man is just phenomenal and is and was completely underestimated. 90s legend! I used to watch you on an evening with my nan after id had a bath and i was sitting infront of the old school fire place in the living room lol wow memory unlocked!! Makes me a bit emotion haha. Just amazing man thanku micheal for making me laugh again we love you and need you back on our screens. People like you cure the world and make it a better place you really do. ❤

Watching this after seeing Barrymore interviewed on Piers Morgan and it's utterly fucking tragic how such a naturally gifted, loving and hugely talented entertainer can end up a broken man just longing for some kind of closure before he dies. Barrymore was, and still is, miles ahead of so many of the lame presenters paid too much to gurn at the camera, read a shitty autocue and lack virtually all manner of a memorable personality. Watching this video tonight has given me just under 15 minutes of genuine hilarity, belly laughs and tears of laughter and reminded me how much I used to love this show. What set it apart from all the bland identikit quizzes shat into TV these days was Michael's utterly intoxicating personality and, of course, his rapport with his contestants. Granted other presenters like Forsyth, Daniels and Monkhouse had their own inimitable style but Barrymore was truly unique in that the show usually ended up more about the contestants than the quiz itself. His ability to make jokes at the expense of others yet never appear patronising is what made the show so infectious and so much damn fun. I remember watching as a young kid and always being reminded of a Basil Fawlty-esque character with incredible energy, wit, charm and style and though the show was, at its core, incredibly basic it became unmissable entertainment because Barrymore was so fucking hilarious. So to see him seemingly lost amidst all the accusations that destroyed his career whilst other dull, forgettable and annoying celebrities presented show after mind numbing show with all the charm, intellect and individuality of a braindead shrimp on a slow day just furthers my belief that TV have lost a true master and, more importantly, an utterly irreplaceable entertainer the likes of which we'll not see again. As he openly admitted to Piers 'I fucked up, okay?' but nobody is perfect and nobody deserves to be eternally punished the way Barrymore has been. Alas, I fear modern society and, especially, modern broadcasters consider him a thing of the past now and would sooner employ some talentless tossed to front the latest quiz or reality show than him but there'll always be plenty of people that will cherish their memories of growing up watching him and all the laughter, smiles and spontaneous energy that exploded on our screens each week. Simply put what happened to Barrymore was a fucking travesty and if it were up to me he'd be back on prime time telly in a flash. Wherever you are right now, Mr B, just know that you're sorely missed and I, for one, pray that you'll one day strike it lucky once more and regain the career you so desperately deserve x

Makes you wish there was an episode which was just Barrymore chatting to the contestants, and by the time they got to the game, they had to roll the end credits.

Enjoyed that thanks. He made the contestants the stars of the show and that was a rare talent.

OK, so a man was found dead in Barrymores jacuzzi with rectal injuries. He fucks off from the scene, doesn't help the enquiry at all. No comment, no comment ! Yeah no way he's guilty 😔

He should have been a better swimming instructor then.
