Bula @Mark Healey, you might already know or it may be a coincidence, but the opening song is about the "beautiful blossoming waves of Fiji". Great choice of music. :) Thanks for the great video!

Was very blessed to surf that place often alone working as a surf guide taking dive groups out there and surfing while they did their scubaduba thing.. Miles out to sea, big blue tornados, living the dream. Have had it epic. Loved this. Took me straight back out there. Thanks.

Great sessions Mark, enjoyed the little twinnie work you were doing. Beautiful day, beautiful place, beautiful waves. I had heard about the limes being an effective reef recovery med before however never used it. Makes a lot of sense though. All the best, stay healthy and thanks for the vid. C A

Amazing video, so much fun to watch. It's the first time I've watched one of your vids. It reminded me of Bruce Brown's style, shot beautifully, so down-to-earth and great sense of humor. "Healey ceviche," it works. See, it says "Heal" right in the name. The Fijian Islands, locals, and their music are treasures. Those kids are stoked. Glad ya had a great trip. Thanks for sharing such an amazing experience.

I met a paramedic in Vanuatu where there is a lot of shallow reef. She said the best thing for reef cuts is to travel with a piece of pure soap, (sunlight etc) grate it and add some sugar and put it on the cut as a poultice then cover it up with a bandaid or something to keep it in place. The sugar is the catalyst for the soap to draw any coral bacteria out and in the morning it should be pink and clean and good to go. I've had the full lemon scrub and the hydrogen peroxide and this works better I reckon without any of the stinging. The first bit of this looks like beautiful Kadavu - that place is heaven on earth if you don't mind getting off the beaten track.

Your so lucky to travel to beautiful places and surf perfect waves uncrowded.....I like to see more sunsets/sunrises on your bog...also Mark have you ever worn the padded wetsuit vests...That covers your upper torso and down to your back=tailbone..Like the one Jamie Obrien wears when he is around reef breaks..It's saved so many from reef encounters and other guys at the same place were all scraped and scarred...it's definitely worth trying....They also have lightly padded long-sleeve surf shirts....Greg

I back the lime move, but I do remember reading somewhere that lemon/lime isn’t actually the best as it dries out the wound? But I’m assuming the “scrubbing” with the fruit helps get bacteria out?
@strikemissions Жыл бұрын
Yes, the primary benefit that I’m going for is killing the bacteria that’s on the coral. Corals have a slight slime coating to them that can have Staph in it
