Great video in tough conditions Maurice, maybe the NF12 coil on the Z would be worth a try in that area.

Really never thought about rainforests as a place to search, can I ask of (roughly where that was?). Just interesting and would love to see a running creek, as my area Heathcote rarely has water....

It's an area in eastern Victoria not quite as far as Gippsland. Thanks for your comment and for watching

Rainforest detecting ... Now _that's_ something different. Nice work. Careful that hungry ground doesn't swallow you up.

Thanks. It can be a bit slippery at times.

I'm in the Bendigo and Ballarat area, I'm seriously hitting the goldfields, don't have a metal detector yet and CANNOT afford an expensive one, so upon my research apparently the equinox 800 does pretty well on mineralised soil, not bad for an entry level machine. I'm so freaking poor I can't even afford a brand new equinox so I'm on the hunt for a second hand one. Recently saw two equinox 800's on gumtree for $500 and $550 hahaha but unfortunately both already sold. Soon as I get a second hand equinox 800 for less then $600, il be the idiot in the scrubs without enough water or proper foot ware, I will either end up bitten by a snake or suffer from heat stroke 😉

I would suggest that you also consider getting a gold monster detector as I think it’s better at finding small gold than the Equinox800. Best of luck and be safe out there.
