Thinking if starting a project of this type Would a regular canvass be good to start on I like the idea of going black on canvass it brings out the brilliant colors !

you can use painted plywood first and use a simple pattern (letters, heart). with experience you can make more complex pictures. good luck🤗

Hello there ! Just caught the show ! Your use of colors against a black base board really brings out the brilliants of color . Question ! What was the type of board you used for this project ? What was the design you came up with ? How did you know how to place your small nails ? I would really like to try this , this is really great ! When starting a string art of this type what type of base board would you recommend ? Are there diagrams to follow ! Or are these your own creations ? Greetings from the Evergreen State of Washington! We have 2 art stores here one is Michael's Art Supply and Hobby Lobby Art Store that I know of ! Again the black base board really brings out the color variations . Great Job !

I'm pretty much a beginner on all this so So how would I start out , something small Large or ? Canvass ? Or even a black base board , To start . Results are just mind blowing ! Is there a way that I can be directed other then guessing also the small nails you used wondering if I can pick these up at a hardware store . Need measurements of the nails possibly .
