Stringbean played one year with Roni on Hee Haw. 1972-1973. There were two regulars on Hee Haw that were not casts members yet .Buck Trent he came in after String died in 1974.Although Buck Trent knew String well. Gailard Sartain I believe also was cast on the show after David died. (String). Not many people knew this about String. The man was a very talented baseball player in his younger years. He played semi- pro.
