You ask a good question. I have heard many different answers. Our craftspeople in the factory have told me time and time again that there is nothing wrong with removing all the strings at once. I used to alternate one at a time 6,3,5,2,4,1. As Dave suggests, clipping all 6 strings at once also lets you clean up the guitar and make other adjustments if needed. The bit of relaxation from removing the strings is not an issue. Thanks!

please someone help me I can't find anything related to my problem on the internet. I have an electro-acoustic guitar and bronze strings. The pegs are white, idk if that's bone or what. The bridge is a wooden, pinless bridge. I need to know if I can put bronze strings in this guitar, And if so, How do I tie the bronze strings to the pegs? (Remember it's not the metal pegs you see in most videos..) Thank you, and sorry for the ignorance and the bad english... I prefer searching before asking..

What about th concept of not removing the strings all at once? Isn't thre a neck ension issue at that point? Not doubting you - cause you do work for Martin after all.

Your best bet is to call the Customer Service line at Martin Guitar. 610-759-2837 and ask for Customer Service. Be ready to email them pictures of the guitar, pegs, and bridge.

Not with an acoustic really. The change shouldn't last long so it shouldn't affect it. The only time you'll need to worry about that will be when you are tuning a guitar with a tremolo system like a Strat.
