Love the video Kevin!! I am also a huge fan of this library, the sample would needs more performance-based samples like this 💯

This sounds amazing. Berlin Strings can do this swell note switches as well but with true legato and even two different Legato types
@jakobolofsson7780Ай бұрын
But not with polyphonic legato right? Just swells. Or am I missing something? (Inhave Berlin Strings also)
@serox8887Ай бұрын
@jakobolofsson7780 no I don't think so. But you can make multiple miditracks instead

I can not agree more, it's a wonderful library! the strings sound absolute beautiful.

How does this compare to Sonixinema's swell series?

How would you say this compares to Crow Hill's String Murmurations?
@gor7642 ай бұрын
Seems very different. String Murmurations are sort of a phrase library that can create some beautiful soundscapes but doesn't necessarily allow a ton of control over solo melodies. This library seems to just have a nice dynamic swell to it but isn't necessarily playing through a multi note phrase.
@petersvan78802 ай бұрын
Sounds great. But, like phrase libs, are pre-baked swells not very limiting? Also, the abundance of separate patches, incorporating these in a composition requires quite some work.

Thanks a lot for the video. I guess, I'm swimming against the stream here. I really don't get it. The limitations Kevin showed are just too many for me. I mean it sounds nice of course but does it sound so much better than a swell of other libraries that crossfade dynamic layers? And does it save so much time in MIDI programming? I'm not sure. And the price, hmmm. Strings don't change their timbre *that* much if they change dynamics during a sustain. I'm waiting for Brass Contours. THAT would be interesting. Kevin said "two bar crescendos" and I always hear "tuba crescendos" 😀

Once you stack multiple audio files together and fade between them you loose any realism and transparency of a real instrument. That's why you want to keep edits to an absolute minimum after recording sessions. Doesn't matter which genre of music or which instruments.
@snarf15042 ай бұрын
@@StrezovSamplingYeah once you compare it to regular samples the difference is pretty huge. A lot of people have become used to that thick, cross-fading sound though and for them this might not be worth it I guess.

Hello Kevin, I am just trying to find a string library that is realistic and can play romantic, sad, and aggressive music. Is String Contours good for that? Or do I pick another such as Cinematic Studio Strings or something?
@KevinKuschel2 ай бұрын
Sounds like you’re looking for a full strings library like CSS, Areia, Pacific, etc. String Contours will be too limited in the styles and articulations you can play with it.
@indianerd872 ай бұрын
Which is the better library of them in terms of flexibility(different music styles) and workflow(easy ui?)? Thank you for the recommendations!
@snarf15042 ай бұрын
@@indianerd87CSS or Areia then. Pacific is more niche, though I personally prefer it to both.
@PianitaraАй бұрын
Don't you wish that the notes sustain a bit before they fade out... Even more so that developers provide a control on the attack and release... With these features, this will make this library from good to great.
@paulg33882 ай бұрын
Very interesting and just when I thought I’m saturated with too many Strings plugins and promised myself I would never buy another !!!
@whittymusic2 ай бұрын
Would be great in the future if it didn’t just do swells. It’s an ensemble patch which can be done with separate instrument tracks. In general we are still pretty far away from “realism”

One never uses solo instruments packaged aside of the real value of the library ;) for the price it's already a great way to convey musical ideas with lifelike realism
