In my opinion, this is potentially an innovative step forward in sampling. It’s hard for me to believe that recording the phrases at 3 different tempi covers the gamut of possible tempos, without introducing artifacts by time-stretching. Can you say that has been accomplished? Also, George, I would to love a woodwind ensemble that performs with the same methodology, albeit instead of phrasing via bowing, phrasing via breath.

We planned with 5 tempi and reduced it, because it doesn't need more. A 70 bpm bar equals two 140 bpm bars and so on....you can get a lot of stuff covered with that approach. Also timestreching, if done right, can be less destructive to the tone and pureness of virtual instruments than dynamic layer crossfading. Just try out the library and then compare it, you will instantly hear the difference it makes on certain applications. 🙂

I've never purchased a library so quickly, this is amazing! I really appreciate that Strezov, along with Musical Sampling, Performance Samples, Sonixinema, keep releasing libraries for Kontakt 6. The development of Kontakt 7 was so messy, it's bloated beyond recognition, with poor CPU and RAM performance. And as for Kontakt 8, it's just sad seeing the greatest sampler ever reduced to a toy, performing even worse than K7... big surprise 🤦 As long as you keep releasing libraries for Kontakt 6, I'll keep buying them!

This sounds gorgeous. I like to write very slow music, so I wondered about the way the phrasing would handle slower tempi than the 70BPM shown and with much longer sustained notes. Could you let me know if this will work in this way?

I just purchased this library and while it is simply a perfectly recorded sample pack, it is limited to "swells" (not discussed here) and you will need to combine it with other string libraries to make it come alive. There is no sustain on any instrument. Otherwise it follows all the rules for swells but has limited use in composing.

It can be way more than just swells. 🙂 And yes it's not a bread and butter library. You need a basic string library. It's a toolkit as any other library out there.

No it's not based on time signature but lengths. It can work in any time signature.

​@@StrezovSampling I love the library, but the phrases play over bars of 4 beats with re-bows on the bar line, so without a tempo override I wouldn't say it works in any time signature. A tempo override would be a great addition because then it actually could be useable in any time signature (other than the Loure patch which is firmly 4/4). Great product and beautiful recordings anyway, no regrets getting it!

This should have at least one sustain kind of patch/articulation where the notes do not fade out too soon. This is one disadvantage of this library i can see. May be future updates will address this.

No they are not, but due to the natural phrasing you would think it is true legato. You can easily fool someone with this library into thinking it has true legato. 🙂
