I bought a cutting of SOH (2" long) & it was literally a single cutting in soil. Instead of waiting for that 1 string to become super long to get cuttings, can I spiral it on top of the soil (now 6"long) & let it root? That is what I did with SOP & worked wonderfully, just not sure about these SOH, from what I've heard they are finicky. Thanks in advance! I'm binging all your videos, lol, I just found your channel.

I just finished reading your book and it's awesome! 😍 As a beginner, authentic plant care over aesthetics is an important reminder and the right plant parenthood mindset. Thank you!

soh is a gorgeous trailing succulent to add to any living space. this plant propagates and spreads so quickly and easily that it can be hard to control.

Just nodes will prop. I’ve done it. They were a string of butt checks for a few months but eventually turned back into hearts 😅

If your struggling to keep your cutting from falling out you can add a lil perlite and it’ll help it stand in place better. ☺️

I didn't propagate mine though I did repot it b/c it out grew the 2" pot it was in. This plant is such a fast grower and I am loving it. I took the over 2 feet long stems and wrapped them around the top of the soil to make it fuller. It's been a few weeks so I am going to check on it this weekend. Thank you for sharing. Great video!

Plant-Ēne Charlene - did anything toot wrapping around the top? I’m thinking of doing the same.

Thanks! I've propagated many different strings of things by not cutting any strings and swirling them around the top of the pot and using bobby pins to pin it down into the soil. It works well.

I should try that too - sounds very effective with fewer steps.

Hi! I stumbled on your channel yesterday and love it; subscribed! This vid reminds me that my poor pot needs a haircut. It's at work, hanging 6 1/2 feet in the air, and currently coiling a couple of feet on the floor; it looks like Rapunzel. I lucked out; mine came from a university nursery and I managed to get three species in one pot; Ceropegia woodii, linearis, and carnosa. Poor carnosa *desperately* wants to climb, but there's really nowhere for it to go. I do notice that the woodii is the most vigorous of the three, and I'm thinking I may need to break up the family. A popular thing to do is take your rooted cuttings and put them in the pot with the main plant to make it fuller. I love those little tubers just hanging in the air, and the funky flowers! Anyway, I'm off to watch some more vids! PS You *do* know about Rainforest Flora, don't you? Paul Isley is a Tilly god, and his nursery is stunning; they have a YT channel with many vids.

Hey... thanks for great information and video, I got my first string of hearts 5/29/21, your video was very helpful, informative, and educational and the root hormone thing, I didn’t even know it like the how you have mentioned it’s good for woody stems and don’t really needed for soft stems propagation. Nice book you got 📚 there, it will make a nice coffee table decor item too. Thanks so much and I really appreciated your information.

Hi House Plant Journal, thanks for your video. I inherited this plant from mum and it is not doing so well. I have repotted it with new well draining soil. The roots on the bulbs were very intense so I trimmed them down and pulled some roots of the bulbs to make them neat. Have I ruined it even more? Or will the roots recover and rebirth?

This may be a dumb question but what's the difference between the node compared to the flower that grows, aren't they usually in the same spot?

Please show demo how to make Rhaphidophora tetrasperma grow thicker, it’s currently a single tall vine.
@HousePlantJournal
@HousePlantJournal 4 жыл бұрын
I only have a very short cutting for now but my best guess would be to ensure it gets 800-1600 foot-candles of indirect light most of the day and give it 3-1-2 fertilizer. The single vine won't really get any thicker.
