I love wax for sewing. My gran saved the stub end of paraffin candles for wax to strengthen plain thread to sew buttons and hooks-and-eyes. It was years before I found out about the nice beeswax the quilters use. It is really good for making this cord handle well and mould into shape. I love how you use little objects as tools to get your effects.

Thank you! The beeswax is better than the paraffin wax as the latter tends to crumble a bit but very resourceful of your grandmother to use the candle ends!
