You should also listen the original form presented by Beethoven of this piece as the 3rd piano trio from his first opus

Often not played. Interesting. development is leaden footed for late Beethoven. fake climaxes and histrionics; sounds a bit like Schubert. Or even Mendelssohn. But Beethoven should be Premier League. Arsenal on a bad day. It gets boring at the double bar reprise. Stealing from Mozart Quintets is patently obvious. Especially No 5. In this key. Between Gallant and Mannerism. Maybe he needed the money. Non, no. get on with 106 and 111 - Ludwig. Schlafen Sie gut!

This is a re-orchestration of the 1st movement of the Opus 1 piano trio. It is fascinating to see how he distributes the piano part around the instruments. Gets a much richer feeling of course. But the cello doesn't have as much fun.

How dismissive you are of the transcendent Schubert, Martin Smith, very nearly the greatest composer ever! You also don't know as much as you think you do about Beethoven, not having known opus 104 was a rework of opus 1.
