What are your reasons for using the black bow hair over white? I understand a lot of bassists will use "salt and pepper" hair and some will use all black hair. I'm curious to hear why you choose black over standard hair. :) Also-- how would you describe the TI's in comparison to the Dominant Pros, if you've tried them? I've got the Pros on now and like them well enough.

Great questions! I play a lot of aggressive styles in outdoor, humid environments (think: rock band on a summer festival stage). The regular hairs are bleached white, which makes them smoother and perhaps better suited to chamber music or other subtle tonal things, but I was just ripping through bow hairs too fast! So unbleached, black bow hairs last longer and are more durable, with a bit more grit. Haven't tried the Dominant Pro's next, but willing to give them a shot! Might do a follow-up video if I get a set. Good suggestion!

The Pi’s lasted longer. The T.I.’s sound good for a long time, but the most recent set I put on got abused on outdoor stages (including getting rained on!). Both are great sets of strings.
