As a former serious tennis player and student of literature I was stunned when I first read the essay on Michael Joyce. The foot note about John McEnroe that makes a comparison to William Faulkner almost made my head explode. BTW Brief Interviews With Hideous Men has some profound fiction in my opinion.

I first read the Federer essay and laughed out loud within the first page and kept shaking my head at how good it was. I'll have to check out Brief Interviews with Hideous Men.
