What an awesome video tutorial! It's truly an oldie but goodie. You're so clear with your instructions and I'm glad I came upon it because I will be making several of these necklaces. The thread helps them to drape nicely. I may even try it on some bracelets. Thanks again! ❤💕💞

Thank you for this instruction. It was exactly what I needed to restring an old necklace. I didn't know what the "bead tip" was called so I didn't know what to look for but I do now thanks to your concise video.

I love love love your tutorial!! I had a hard time remembering how to use my bead tips recently and I was searching for a tutorial online, but I called them clamshells in my search. I didn't find a good tutorial as good as yours and I also didn't know that clamshells can also be called bead tips. One thing I might do when I try making this necklace is that I will try knotting in between each bead. Thank you so much for your help!!

This was the exact tutorial I needed! I was gifted a not too expensive shell necklace years ago and it's one of my favorites. It needs to be restrung as it's become too small for my neck. (my bad!) I'm so happy to know I can use thread and how to go about it! It was strung with thread and I have only beaded with wire and it doesn't lay well with shells when I've tried. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Excelliant video. Again, learning valuable information from beading experts. Thank you for sharing so many valuable methods of beading for those of us just beginning. That trick with the awl getting the knot close to the bead was amazing!!! Fumbling around with my clunky fingers was making a giant mess with knots. I can't wait to try the awl method. Thanks again. Great Video.

This is a very good tutorial. Thank you for making it so understandable. My only comment is about the thread. Is there a gauge or size that you should use. It has been my experience as a beginner and watching different videos that most people do not spend enough time on the threading material. I have found while bumbling through trying to make something that the thread/wire that is used makes all the difference in how the piece turns out. it would be most helpful, to me at least, if a little more time was spent on the size/gauge of the stringing material. Maybe those who have been doing it for a long time just assume we might know, but I personally do not. Thank you again. This is a terrific tutorial.

What a useful video. Thank you. Which thread are you using AND would it be strong enough for a beaded necklace carrying a central glass pendant?
@ShoryoTombo4 жыл бұрын
I was wondering how you know the size of the thread for the bead you are working on. Is there a chart to compare with from size 8mm bead to the size of the nylon thread? Another question is, does the nylon thread fray in time or do you just knot the thread between the beads to prevent it from fraying? Love this tutorial!

Why would you use a thread, versus a wire (or fireline, etc,) when beading these larger beads? I understand that thread works when you are knotting between the beads. But what about when you don't? Thanks!
@SoftFlexCompany7 жыл бұрын
There are no hard rules when stringing your jewelry. You should design with the mediums and beads that make you happy. I assume she used a thread for this design because she prefers the drape of the thread.
@elizabethkeller12285 жыл бұрын
Can you use the leftover string? How do you use Silk Thread if the Needle Tip has come off?
