Really helpful. Thank you. Although I agree with earlier comments in that I wish manufacturers would recognise the limitations of us amateur stringers!

It's almost as if some of the manufacturers think that strings will never break ;-)

Hi there. Good vid 👍🏼 Are there specific stringing instructions for this racquet.? Klipperusa isn’t very helpful. J

Does the Baiardo mount racquetball frames ok? I recently picked up a used Baiardo Original, and it can mount Tennis and Squash frames ok, but I am having trouble mounting racquetball frames. The 12 and 6 supports won’t reach the frame all the way, as if the two support towers need to be moved back a little more? Not sure if I am missing something…

Hi there, so far there's only one type of racketball racket which doesn't quite reach and that's the head blackjack/similar. But it's very close. You can get plastic extenders for the posts to bridge the gap or... I use a rubber grip band which I fold up and use at the head end which is really good for protecting the frame and covering the gap.

Awesome thanks for the tip! A good portion of my customers will be racketball frames, so when I did 2 Gearbox frames last night, the 6 o'clock support piece was turned all the way in, and the inner support plastic pad just reached, and was able to grab and hold it down fine, but the 12 o'clock piece which was also turned in as far as it could be inwards, was not able to reach the top of the frame by probably a few centimeters, so this tip will come in handy for that. Unfortunately though also the clamps were not able to go all the way to reach the very top cross, so I had to use a flying clamp and clamp on the top of the frame opposed to the bottom since there was no room when I was tying off my top knot. I did try and mount one of my older Ektelon frames before that though, the Ektelon O3 Rueben Gonzales, and there was much wider gaps at 12 and 6 :( Going to have to get creative if I run into these hiccups. Is the Baiardo L turntable more or less the same distance between the two posts as of the original I wonder? The L can adjust INwards right to better accommodate badminton frames? But not more outwards? Many thanks for your help

@@level27xrock little tip for the Ektelon frames (I string for a guy who uses the O3 RG model too), use a starting knot at the top and pull tension and clamp on the second cross. Just add 10% and wiggle the top two strings a bit to help ease the tension through. to be honest, I can't remember having an issue with the posts reaching on this racket, but if so I would have used my trick. Turntable almost identical aside from the adjustable posts.

Ah yeah! Right on, getting familiar with the machine, and I am just loving every bit of it. The 5 tooth clamps seem to be a little more accessible for tighter areas opposed to the 4 tooth ones that came on mine (and as far as I know, new regular Baiardo's come with the 5 tooth's now standard) maybe I will see if I can pick up two of those. The big hefty 4 tooth ones are kind of nice though too in their own right. Thanks for all you do mate, big fan of the channel

Yeah the 5 tooth clamps are awesome. I've used the old Baiardo quite a few times before too and for tennis it's an absolute dream and the clamps work great. The L is just a little more agile and versatile (for the posts and clamps anyway). Any other queries, just give me a shout 👍

My son has a Gamma Progression 2 drop weight stringer. It has four clamps. He does not think he can string a yellow Head Xtreme racquet with it because he cannot keep the tension. Any suggestions?
@stringdoctor6238
@stringdoctor6238 Жыл бұрын
He should still be able to string it, as long as he has 2 base or 2 flying clamps. He just needs to make sure he clamps after pulling tension.
@cplampe
@cplampe Жыл бұрын
@@stringdoctor6238 With the pattern he has seen he would have to pull four strings then pull tension to have two close enough to grab.
@stringdoctor6238
@stringdoctor6238 Жыл бұрын
@@cplampe ok, I think I get you. I was thinking that he was having issues with the crosses and hidden comments. For the mains, if he's using flying clamps then, yes, he won't be able to use flying clamps on the mains, but could use a starting clamp to clamp on outside. For the last main string he'll be fine to clamp normally.

@cplampe it may still be difficult. There aren't too many rackets like this. Might be worth upgrading to a machine with base clamps. You should be able to sell the current model for fairly decent money.

On your initial tension pull, you pulled tension on three mains. Why? There is no way the tension will be the same on main 1R and 1L/2L. IMHO you could have clamped the right side at the head to get a better tension on the middle two mains.
@stringdoctor6238
@stringdoctor6238 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Brad, no only pull two. It’s clamped on right side at throat but string loops/starts at head. As the holes at the throat loop inside the frame, you can only pull at the head. Definitely only two strings pulling on the left side 👍
@stringdoctor6238
@stringdoctor6238 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, see what you mean re. The first pull. There is actually a reason on this racket. I’d normally start with the clamp at the head on the right side however in the centre at the head, due to posts being used to the extreme, it leaves quite a big gap between clamping and frame anyway. Plus, the tension pulls fine on the right side. I always allow a little extra time when pulling tension on these frames for the constant pull on the machine to really pull tension. If, however, I was using a crank machine then, yes, more likely that there would be a slight difference.

I wish manufacturers would realize that these racquets need to be restrung and need to be mounted. Some you can not mount on expensive machines which I guess are really made for tennis.

Yes, there are a lot of machines which struggle to clamp racketball rackets in place properly.
