I was not aware until I posted. I had never used a Klippermate or ever explored them.

You should be showing top view of the racket.

Thx. Good point. Don’t have a setup for that angle yet. Will work on it.

How do like the Stringway?
@johnyoungblood Жыл бұрын
I’ve had it for approx 20 years and it’s every bit as solid today as it ever was. It’s a beast of a machine. Very precise. Easy to use. Admittedly I don’t use it as much today as in the past, but it does get occasional use. I prefer the use of flying clamps and the new Pro Stringer Claws are my favorites.

Have you ever had a problem with lower tension in the tie off strings? I also use the pro stinger claws
@johnyoungblood6 ай бұрын
No matter how terrific of a stringer you are, and no matter what machine you are using, it is inevitable that you will lose tension when tying off. It is definitely not related to using claws. However, I have always increased tension on my final mains before tying off. Even with this some tension is lost. I also manually twist my claws so they are as close to perfectly parallel to strings when tying off mains. Hope this helps. I can make a video showing this at some point.

Yes please. It's not really a problem for me, but I have a customer that complains about that. I've tried to use 2 clamps in the tie off string but i can't get consistent results

Same concept as Starting pin with Klippermate system.

I discovered that a few days ago. I was never involved with Klippermate, so I was not aware. TY for sharing.

Have you found the Pro-Stringer Claws to be better than the Stringway clamps? I have Stringway's clamps and lately, they've been popping open after tensioning and clamping the string causing me to start all over. It doesn't happen on the crosses, only on the mains.

I do prefer the claws. The Stringway clamps are solid. I’m surprised you are having issues. They may need to be reconditioned. I’d suggest reaching out to Fred Timmer at Stringway. I’m sure he’d be willing to help you by sending some instructions.

I'm getting ready to order a set of the Pro-Stringer Claws. I'm curious if you have any experience with their Starting Clamp? I've been unable to find any information or feedback on it, except for the limited description on the Pro-Stringer site. Thanks!

Hi! It is a new product. I tested a pre production version and have used final version. It is a solid clamp. As good as my best/favorites. Like all starting clamps, the string has to be placed deep in the jaw to avoid slippage.

Is this a ML 100 with normally 92 clamps ? Are you always only stringing with flying clamps ? I got the ML 100 with the 98 clamps

Man, didn't you think of showing it all from above?

Great point. Didn’t have access to mount camera from above. Will try to make it easier to see in future videos, if I make any.

How does the drop weight at any angle actually work?
@johnyoungblood2 жыл бұрын
Probably best explained in the Stringway site. Here’s a quick version. www.stringway.com/us/drop-weight-machines/
