Stringway Automatic Drop Weight Machine Review (ML100con-T92)

I have owned this stringing machine for awhile and wanted to give a proper review of it to let people know the pros and cons.

Hello Racquetology I am sorry to hear about the problem with the locking system. The good thing is that it should be easy to solve. The reason for the problem is that the locking bar moves upwards too slowly because of friction in the movement. Please test how fast the locking bar moves upwards when you push the knob down. If it is slow the shaft may be bent. Let me know so that we can solve this simple problem.

What’s the difference between ML90 & ML 100. For my ML90 which I got 2nd hand, there is no tilt up at the throat. Is that correct?

Seeing swivel clamps on a glide bar looks like it could be an easy upgrade on Prince Neos machines. The one drawback with a Neos is doing fan patterns and all racquetball racquets are fan patterns. You can use floating clamps for tennis fan patterns but racquet ball where 1 throat goes to 5 head there would be no way to use a floating clamp.

Anyone know what is the difference between ML90 & ML 100? I bought a second hand ML90 but not sure if this machine has Table lifts automatically at the position of the tension head. My ML90 does not seem to be ale to lift. Thx

What are your thoughts regarding manual constant pull machine example easystringer

Hello, I think that the title of constant pull does not apply to the easy stringer machine. I know the marketing says it is but from the interaction with the string it does not do anything different in comparison to a manual crank lockout. The string is tensioned and held in place, not constantly pulled to the set tension. So in other words I think of the machine as a more portable lock out machine. Hope this helps!

@@racquetology okay sir, you are the expert. Just one last thing should a tennis player or a coach invest in the easystringer machine or gravitational weight machine which is in the same price range. I'm asking this because easystringer machine doesn't look very sturdy.

Both of those will come down to a set of different needs. The Dropweight will provide constant pull tension with some machines having a good base design with fixed clamps and possible upgrades available, great for people looking for a stable machine to string at home and invest in over time it will probably cost a bit more close to the 600 USD range for a quality one such as Gammas Progression II 602FC The EasyStringer wins out on Portability, the machine is small and will accompany a coach or player if they travel a lot; It eats up less space plus can be set up almost anywhere with a table. It is a lockout machine so the tension will differ by about 10% (this number can depend on other factors such as clamps) in comparison to the Dropweight, this isn't that much of an issue but may take some adjustments to find out what tension you like with a different pull system. The Easy Stringer is manually operated so it will begin to wear on the arm after multiple frames and is meant for someone who would only due a couple of frames every once in a while. The price is around 350 USD so it is decently cheap. Hopefully this helps highlight some different pros-cons for both machines, essentially it breaks down to if you want to do a lot of racquets at home with low portability or just need to string in case of emergencies while traveling.

If the bar isn't locking when returned to position you probably need to clean the engagement surface on the block. Of course, if you email Fred Timmer he'll tell you the exact things to look at if you have any kind of problem; he's been selling this basic design for decades and knows it inside and out.

Could you just mark the bar with a sharpie so you don't have to use the ruler? Or maybe even make stickers.

The ruler is precision indexed and thick phenolic plastic. The ML stringers can use several weight combinations which are accounted for on the ruler (you can't do that on the drop bar). Finally, etching on the bar would stop the weight from sliding smoothly. tl;dr, once you see it, it makes sense.

Don't recommend the Stand for M machines ’83’ !! its very dangerous to use, because after some time a Part from the Stand breaks and the Machine falls down on your Feet !
