What a great idea to use the color dropper to add your yarn colors to a photo/sketch! 💡

Just enjoy your informative and interesting podcast so much. and vanilla socks are the best for so many reasons. You are truly sharing so much with knitters in every way so thanks for that. our knitting group has been getting together at each one of our houses and watch your podcast and knit. it's the best time together. I know we all get into habits and we wonder if you might try to not say 'you guys' so much. Some sentences have three and four you guys, every time you say you, you have to add guys. The other word you use for no reason at all is like, again, there can be several likes in a sentence even when it's 10 words long. I guess podcasters don't edit their work for these nuances because you could watch any section and see these repeat terms/phrases.

I am so glad you all are enjoying the podcast and finding community around it! I will take your suggestions to heart as I grow as a podcaster, and as a speaker, I think these words come out a lot for me with nerves, but I will be working on it!

You can carry the yarns up the side. You will only need to weave in the ends at the start and finish of each contrast color. The main color can be carried up the whole time. Either way works, but that is what I am doing on my stripe hype. I didn't want to weave in all those ends.

Love seeing your project updates! For the Stripe Hype, I got soo discouraged by all the ends to weave in, so on the sleeves I just carried the yarn and it looks fine! I weaved in a good chuck from the front and back panels and then for the body stripes I was over it and tied knots and cut 🤫🤫🙊🙊

For your ends on the yoke, you could knit them in as you’re picking up the sleeve stitches. I often do this when I have ends in the sleeve and it works well - although makes picking up the stitches just slightly more finicky. For the body I would absolutely try braiding the ends. Worst case scenario you don’t like it and you can always go back and weave them in traditionally later!

Lovely episode! Love seeing all your WIPs! Impressed with you being so new and knocking out sweaters! I have yet to knit many sweaters but have been wanting to more and more! I’m really trying to curate my queue on Ravelry as I have many many WIPs and out of control - for my crazy brain to focus, I need to be more disciplined with 5-6 WIPs at a time! As it feels so good to finish things 😂 Also curious on the sheep skin - did a sheep have to die for the skin to be made?? Or is it truly just the coat when they are sheared??? I would love one of them too!! ❤
@jacqueismaking
@jacqueismaking Ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I’m the same way and truly wish I could cast it all on haha, and honestly other KZbinrs are what gave me courage on all the sweaters! For the sheep skin, it only happens once the animal has died, so you can feel good knowing that!

I think if it’s a toothy yarn that sticks to itself then braiding is the way to go.
@jacqueismaking
@jacqueismaking Ай бұрын
Thanks, Laura! It's not the most toothy... so perhaps I should weave in the ends I have, and start carrying up the rest.

@@jacqueismaking the nice thing about weaving in ends for stripes is that you can fix any potential wonkiness at the beginning or end of the stripe while you are securing the ends.
