Mark, thank you so much for what you do. I'm in my first semester in grad school for clinical mental health counseling and your ability to get people to open up with the questions you choose is amazing. I keep recommending this channel to my classmates who get stuck in practice sessions. You truly have a gift. Thank you for sharing it with us.

It takes practice. I have been following the channel for 2 years. Mark interviewing skills have improved significantly. What really set Mark apart is the tone of his voice. It helps especially for these interviews where Mark often prompt his guests to reflect on past traumatic experiences. It’s really a work of art when you break that ice during a difficult interview and get someone to open.

@@leok5677 thank you for saying that! I said the EXACT same thing to my sister yesterday, about his tone of voice being key to the interviews. Tone is critical. We all tend to be guilty of not paying attention to *how* we say stuff sometimes. Often we don't even mean to, but our verbal tone can make someone reluctant to be totally open and honest. Particularly those who may be predisposed to feeling pre judged for various reasons. I don't know how Mark does it consistently, no matter what crazy shit he hears lol. I try to be conscious of not letting judgement creep into my tone when I'm talking to someone's who's life is very different from mine, but for example if someone's talking about robbing people or hurting someone else, etc, it would be hard. But as interviewer, you're not there to have an opinion or judge anyone right. You're a medium to facilitate the process of the story.... Mark must have really good boundaries lol.

Mark, as ever, a truly fascinating video. I cannot understand why men would ever seek a paid intimate moment with a female who clearly utterly despises men. The biggest turn off has to be a combination of the total lack of any female desire coupled with an unequivocal announced derision.

You can put a pretty bow on it, but she is essentially just transitioning into a "matron" role. She will gain the trust of younger girls and then teach them safer and more efficient ways to exploit themselves. This is not a good thing! We need people getting these girls out of this life, not teaching them how to do it better.

If they had been busting up the club in a fist fight security would have been mopping the floor with them. And I have seen a couple of women that can stick to a guy like a mad cat. Once they are on you can't get them off without hurting yourself. You ever pick up a scared cat and get attacked by it? I doubt it.

This is delusional, I was a stripper for 8 years - the female solidarity is a myth. We only relate to each other because we are all being used by men and have shared trauma. Other than that, backstabbing and fights and client stealing and pimps and getting your ass beat and drugs and theft are the norm. The NORM. this is not a sparkly happy go lucky girl club, it's survival, and anyone who thinks otherwise is pure ignorant.

I remember the first time I walked into a strip bar. It was so unreal to me. Then the first time I saw someone shoot up. How surreal. The unreal became so normal with time. Salem, thank you for telling your story. It is easy to tell if someone is just making things up. They lack detail. You didn't squander your opportunity to tell the real story of your life. I guess it depends on when and where the strip club is- in my area in the 90s and 2000s, I never saw needles at work. The clubs were actually an escape from my needle using ex -it was actually a step up from my reality lol dancing actually got me out of that heavy scene. Not that there wasn't rampant drug use- but the owners/managers had a no tolerance policy with Crack smoking and needle using. They could flag the needle users at audition and just not hire them, but occasionally a girl would get busted smoking crack in the bathroom. (I almost got barred once for smoking weed out of a small metal one-hit pipe lol) Even when the oxie crisis became a thing, the girls were popping 40s like candy ,they weren't booting. A lot of them didn't even realize they were taking opiates, until they started getting dopesick.

Dear Mark, I watch your channel since quite some time actually years. I appreciate that you give a face and story to the suffering and with it a bigger understanding to the public. And I feel very compassioned about the stories from all these people/victimes. But with the statement of Salem that she started "sugaring" with "older guys" I stardet to realise that most of these videos are about victimes side. The perpetaitors are missing. So Therefore I started to wonder who are these predators? - And most likely they get away with this and victimise so many other vulnerable people. By now i am torned, somehow it does not feel right, since only the already used, abused, victimised poeple expose themselves here. And the other side of the abuser, perpetraitor is still hidden secured in the dark. Still these "older guys" go out to "sugaring" more young vulnerable people. It doesnt sit right with me, somehow its even very sickening. Why is it ok to expose the victims but not the purpetraitors? I hope you get my taughts. Thank you, karin karina

Being a stripper is definitely hard work 😓 I was a stripper for 2 years and I’m surprised I’m not dead lmao 😂 it’s not funny but the guys are crazy. I’ve met some seriously messed up dudes, washed up models, old money, new money, football players, ex mobsters, pimps, etc I’ve had to run for my life and it’s like part of the territory almost…running for your life, especially if you need extra money but yea I had good and bad days. I started when I was 20 so the money was good but I was horrible with money so I blew it all and have nothing to show for it now at 29. It does cause lasting emotional damage so you have to have a thick skin and drugs, alcohol are inevitable that’s how I got introduced to harder substances so like I said you have to have a thick skin or you will get sucked in and it’s hard to get out mentally unscathed. I’ve met some characters though lol 😆😂 this was a great interview though, kinda hard to watch only because I’ve lived that life and she’s 100% right it’s fast, dangerous, crazy, fun, unsafe, scary, adrenaline pumping, long, strenuous, tiring, draining amongst many other things.

It's an interesting industry.

I met my sugar daddy there and was in bondage to him for years so even when you think your out via “rescuing” you’re still never really out because your expendable and in his control. You have to have an exit plan to leave the sex industry. Having a sugar daddy is still essentially sex work and I didn’t get that when I was 22 and got “rescued”. The politics of civilian jobs is too much to deal with, but being drugged, assaulted, robbed and almost raped isn't? Make that make sense. Also, sex workers say that men are too 'insecure' to date them. No. Why would a man sign up for a woman who's life is about extracting money from men and never being held accountable for their behavior. That's not a relationship.

Two of them thought I should feel special and one of them told me she thought to herself how much a trick would pay to get what I'm getting for free. I should have felt honored?? They were all shocked, and that same one hurt and insulted that I didn't take them seriously because..............they're paid to take off they're clothes for men and sometimes do a little hoing on the side. Having watched scores of these interviews I'm very confused as to why almost every poster has the inclination to over praise the subject. Somehow they always see the most wonderful beautiful person behind the facade and if things had just gone differently they'd be Hilary Clinton or June Cleaver or they are some untapped scholar with doctorate potential. Some people (most) are responsible for their own choices and probably wouldn't welcome all of the excuses you make for them and would in fact be insulted by them as if they are some pliable human being so easily influenced by their past life and surroundings.

She is definitely smart and beautiful. I think her life in sex work has left her jaded and in relationships, she even said it's her first, so she has lost the compassion and empathy needed to understand that her partner has needs and their feelings matter as well. There's no compromise. It's seems like I'm going to do what I want and I don't care how you feel about it. Either accept it or I'm leaving. And the reason that her partners are ok with her work at first is because they have not started caring about her yet. But that is the partners problem, because she was what she was when they met her, so you shouldn't try to change her because now you have feelings. I hope that she eventually finds someone that she cares about enough ,that she willing to sacrifice always putting herself first. I fear until she does, she will continue to lead a lonely life, as far as romantically.

Or she could find someone who wants to support her work and art as it is (does eventually want her to find her way out) but let’s her be herself and nurtures her. It’s a hard thing to find. But it is out there. Thankfully she knows that being in a relationship isn’t the most important thing it life. As she said, she’s single but she’s not lonely ❤

If you don't put yourself first who will?
@patricklary81
@patricklary81 Жыл бұрын
@@aliciamari85 there are many partners that put their loved ones first. If you haven't met that person yet, I urge you to keep looking. Maybe your looking for them in the wrong places. I put my wife and children before myself most of the time. I have to think about how my decisions will affect them. There's nothing wrong with self love but if you truly love and care about the person your with, you think about them first sometimes. That's part of what love is. It makes you want to put them first. In culture today, it's popular to tell women specifically to put themselves first, get all they can get out of a man, don't accept a man who isn't making tons of money, and this thought process, though it sounds good, is no sustainable and is eventually destructive and will collapse in on itself. My wife is probably the most self sacrificing person I have ever met in my life. Most mothers are. But she always puts our children and myself first before her own needs, or desires. As I recognize this, I appreciate it and love her all the more because of this. We have been together 16 years. Since I was 25 and she was 23. Our relationship is not perfect and we have had our ups and downs, but I will never cheat on her or leave her, or be disloyal to her, as long as she continues to do the same. I hope you eventually find the right person for you if you have not already. I assume you haven't as, your question leads me to believe that you haven't. I hope this changes your mind or at least helps you to see another side.
@patricklary81
@patricklary81 Жыл бұрын
@@wendyWERKKZ she said she was not lonely in life but was love wise. Seems like a lonely place to be. Everyone has a desire to be loved by others. It's human nature. But the problem is the part about finding someone who supports her and nurtures her, that has to be reciprocated in return, and it feels like at this point she is void of that or doesn't want to. At least that's the way it sounded by what she said. I'm not saying I'm right. no one ever speaks perfectly what they mean. But no one will permanently be with someone who doesn't give back what they are receiving. That's what being in a loving and healthy relationship is. It's 50/50

Mark have learned alot from your channel. Once a woman works in the sex industry she loses the emotional connection with a sexual relationship. Other sex worker interviews are the same “why am I going to have sex with a partner who gives me headaches when I can get paid for it. Its like waisting my time.” Amazing how a woman loses the emotional bond to a relationship after having had numerous sexual encounters with a huge amount of men were they dont even remember the men.

Now, I would have no hesitation whatsoever because I have learned through their stories that we are all alike at the core. I have you to thank for that. Mark. I do have one question which Salem reminded me of and it's "Why the obscenely long fingernails? I've had this question for months. Is it something the customers expect to see? Is it part of the "act" or is it personal vanity for the woman? Are they weapons just in case? Being "vanilla" as I am, I just look at those nails and wonder how the woman even manages her personal life let alone what the job requires of her.
