Well done for all the hard work you and the wife have done and good to see a longer video
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
Cheers Cameron, im glad its done and now im ready for more when its ready hehe......Longer videos seem to get less views probably because people have better things to do lol but i tried to avoid making it seem boring to keep the interest there.

That is some interesting cable. I've not seen cable like that before. Very nice. New to your channel, looking forward to more.
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
Its underground mains cable and it has replaced the use of copper cable....Thanks for watching and subscribing.

@@danthescrapper815 hehehe i bet but it would give more if it where copper ;)
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
@johnnybjorkdahl it might pay much more but that would also mean id need to buy it at a higher price off my customer otherwise they would sell it somewhere else so in the end whether copper or aluminium the profits you make are very similar just the numbers are smaller will ally cable.....I paid 80c a kilo for that ally cable and will currently get $2.30kg for it stripped......Iv worked everything out so its balanced.

Would like to see you pealing the cables.
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
Showing more peeling did cross my mind but thought it would make the video too boring because peeling is not really that fun to do haha.

Very busy haha, it should be around or just under $1500 which will go towards a thailand holiday so the wife can see her family.
@fredself7846 Жыл бұрын
Well, the big question is what kind of money will that bring at the Yard.
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
Around or just under $1500 it will be.

What’s the current return on aluminium cable stripped vs unstripped? I’ve just got a large amount of 240-300mm aluminium cable and just wondering if it’s going to be worth stripping. I will need to buy a machine as well
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
I actually stripped some ally cable this evening....For me its like this, i buy it unstripped for 80c a kilo and when i sell it stripped at current price of $2.70kg ill do a touch better than doubling my money on the purchase.......Tho this time i pulled a heap out of the bin which was a bonus so its profit, profit, profit all the way.
@sooglablue Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! I’m only new to this. What do you use to cut the larger cables? I was thinking an 18v bandsaw
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
@sooglablue Iv got a Milwaukee Sawzall and that cuts it nice and easy and is also handy for when your out and about.
@iffy9776 Жыл бұрын
Is there any way you can turn it into copper...lol .
@danthescrapper815 Жыл бұрын
Yep a can of spray paint, ok lots of spray paint lol but the problem would then be why does cable this thick only weigh 632kg.
@charlesyates66875 ай бұрын
I just stripped 200 lbs of alluminum cable took it in got 8c per lbs . Not worth messing with
@danthescrapper8155 ай бұрын
Ohh fek thats bloody terrible, im almost getting $3.00kg here in Australia for clean ally cable so definitely worth it for me.
