Just wanted to say thanks from San Francisco. Used your video to rebuild the Amal on my little Triumph 1971 T-100. Really appreciate your help. Got the brass seat just right, tickler now works and the sucker starts first kick and runs like a top. Thanks again.

Good sir, I just want to sincerely thank you for taking the time to create and post this video. I am a mediocre mechanic at best, but with your help I got my '72 Daytona 500's carbs breathing a lot better! THANK YOU! Any other how-to videos you feel like posting will be most appreciated! - Michael, Wichita, Kansas, USA

Thank you for the video Lunmad, I'm just at the point of putting my carbs together and was wondering how to set the floats. Your video showed me exactly what I needed.

Mate... I have an all original 1973 T140 750 with about 9000 miles on the clock. I originally bought it as a collector piece instead of a daily driver but sitting in the garage with little use and not preserved has taken its toll so I'm in the process of cleaning things and renewing where necessary. I just have to tell you that your videos are exactly what I'm looking for to catch the nuance that the shop manual can't come close to providing. Thanks. Brian (Houston, TX, USA)

When riding for 45 minutes or so at 55 to 60 mph, one of my cylinders will sometimes cut out. It may be fuel related because when I let up on the throttle, the cylinder will start firing again. But after opening the throttle again for a few minutes the problem recurs. Often, the problem clears by itself after a mile or two of driving. If the problem were electric, I it should also happen at low speeds but it occurs only at high speeds (about 3500+ rpm). Thanks for the excellent videos!!

@shotfirer1972 Hi there, My mate fitted a Wal Phillips injector to a TriBsa he built years ago, He never did get it dialled in right, It blued a brand new pair of header pipes nearly to the silencer within a mile. (The timing was spot on) So personally I wouldn't waste the time fitting it.

Hi Michael :-) glad to help, and if they are helping they are worth the effort! I hope you decided not sell your trusty 500. I think I have about 40 Triumph vids up now, settings differ but the basic lay out is similar. John

@lunmad gday i believe it was off an 850 single carb, thanks for your reply!. I also have a Wal Phillips "injector" that has some history that i'd have to chase up, but its all there apart from the main return spring. Seen many of these on triumphs?

Any tips for removing the exhaust pipes on a 1950's T100 ?
@lunmad15 жыл бұрын
Hi shotfirer1972 :-) your carb sounds like a 32mm left-hand 4stroke carb, 32mm being the bore. I think Norton used these on their 750/850 motors. I cannot see a problem as long as it is jetted for the motor it is on. Although it will work better in the higher rpm range than the lower, this is down to the air velocity through the carb. Not sure what you mean about "seals" but you can get all the parts and kits you need from Amal. ps what Triumph is it? I am assuming it is single carb.
@lunmad14 жыл бұрын
@jonnightrain Hi Jon :-) Glad you got it sorted, after flooding problems the oil should also be changed.
@lunmad15 жыл бұрын
Hi briank200 It sounds like you may have fuel starvation, there should be four filters, Two in the tank on the taps (suspect) and one inside each banjo. The first thing I would do is undo the banjo's then turn 1 tap on, it should run out full flow through both banjo's, let it run and see if the pressure drops. If its ok, do the same test on the other tap, if the pressure does drop or start sputtering the Tap filters need cleaning. For hi speed running 4-500rpm I turn both taps on.

@2drosts Thanks 2d :-) they should be good for another 20yrs now :-D The biggest cause for leaky bowls is over tightening the two screws.
