Stripping Down The Hottest 1985 Dodge RamCharger

In todays video we get to find out the size of skyjacker lift kit that is installed and start to break apart the crispy shell of the RamCharger to revel everything underneath. We also cut panels that will be reused on my 1987 dodge RamCharger and go over a little of the history on this 1985 RamCharger.

i just bought a ramcharger after dreaming for one, im excited, but its a bit over my head, so your videos help me understand a sort of from start to finish, thankfully ,mine is exterior restored, just need wiring, lights, cluster...to be street legal, and interior re done, but its a pretty clean box besides all that, thank you for your videos, im trying to learn the ins and outs of the vehicle

rhino line the bottom inside and outside will solve the rust problem off the fender flares rubbing around not to mention it will protect against rock chips.

Wouldn't it be easier to put your body and engine on that frame?Suspension would already be in place with tranny, transfer case and the bumpers are already mounted. You would need to check the burned motor to see if it's a 318 or 360. If it's a 360 and you used the tranny in the burnt truck you'd have to change torque converters because a 360 is externally balanced. A 318 is not. Under the exhaust manifold on the driver side at the rear of the motor is the casting number which tells what motor you have.

It is supposed to be a 360 as per the Copart listing and vin. I would love to just swap the cab and call it done, but I would run into the same problems as just swapping the axles. I don’t have a lift to pull the body off the frame and unfortunately the wiring that ran on the frame near the engine bay is cooked. trust me I have thought long and hard about it

@@austincarr5441 the casting number will say 318 or 360. It's not just a long series of random numbers. That way if you're selling the tranny you can be sure of what you have .

I would for the concrete space, but a two post lift would be the best when it comes to doing the swap. And Randy had already extended the offer!
