Stripping Gordon setter jacket with tools - part 3 : shoulders back and ribs

To speed up a handstrip ( ideal for salon pet setters ) I’m using Aaronco Magna carder - extra fine stripping knife ( great for deshedding double coats also) - this is a kind tool ideal for weekly raking ( carding ) and for juvenile or damaged coats
I’m also using Aaronco Sumo raker tool - it’s supposed to be pre-dulled to avoid cutting the cost but I find it quite harsh and will cut the coat - but it’s great for necks and front legs and around the tail area - this tool removed a lot of coat at once
Both took give a very nice finish When used correctly on 45 degree angle

Hi Bea. These videos are awesome. I have a 15 month old irish setter who is growing out of his puppy coat. It is fluffy and dry. What is your best recommendation for getting his puppy coat off? I have tried the stripping knife but just seems to take out the undercoat. His puppy coat is long.

Glad you like the videos 😀 thank you for your kind comments Picture would help Or try to use a rubber comb ( see one of my videos how to make it and how to use it ) or just grippy fingers tips and strip out the fluff little by little over several weeks I also recommend using Omega 3 oils added to the diet - flaxseed or salmon oil
