So simple yet complex when we must uncondition ourselves

So simple, it goes to the heart. The shift from thought to no-thought is what takes one to the Source, the Silence. It is instantaneous, as soon as the usual thinking goes away. It is the goal of this life. Thank you.

We can listen to the silence even if there are sounds in the world, and even if there are thoughts. It's all about attention. Direct attention not to sounds, not to words, but to the silence that is always here, always underneath the noise. Helen Hamilton has said that in listening to what is already quiet and silent, we become quiet and silent. It's from her that I learned this method of listening to the silence, and this method of listening to the silence is how she achieved her awakening. I highly recommend her. Whatever you choose to do, listen to the silence that is always here, in which the world and mind rest.

A deeply impressive video rich in profound thoughts. Everything Papaji said here sounds simple, but to put these thoughts and ideas into practice is quite hard. Because the mind wanders. Yesh Prabhu, Bushkill, Pennsylvania

There is nothing to put into practice if you hear it. Silence is already silence. How can you make the quiet more quiet? Can you make space more spacious by trying? Only in dreaming you are a person, can there even be someone to do anything. No matter your state, you have never done anything. So then what is the point of practice, other than to delay your own truth?

practice is necessary to rid yourself of what is not you. PLUS papaji says "you have to strive only for silence" 2:03 in other words, to make an effort or to PRACTICE
@isabellaf5287 жыл бұрын
Noah Hornberger What you said was theoretical mumbo jumbo. You know yourself to be the ego. You understand it academically(with your ego) but you're not in unity with it. Because you understand it with your ego, it is flawed to begin with. Again, practice is absolutely necessary otherwise you'll be stuck in a cyclical trap of your ego. Now be silent.. dont talk.
@isabellaf5287 жыл бұрын
Noah Hornberger I know its not the absence of words, I just didn't wanna talk to someone as silly as you. Just more mumbo jumbo. You simply understand it academically, you dont EXPERIENCE it. You're mind understands it. Mind is ego! I dont care how many hours you've spent listening to papaji. I dont even care if you have a Ph.D on his lectures. If you had the ability to be silent you would only need to listen to a 2 minuter talk and that would have been enough. Listening to him over and over and over and over again is the same thing as practicing. You were busy in the PRACTICE of listening to him. Yet you go around saying there is no need of any practice. You're not qualified to tell anyone anything.

Is it possible to quiet your mind??
@GlobalWellBeing7 жыл бұрын
There is an old Tibetan saying, "if you want a fire to go out, stop feeding it wood". In the same way when we stop paying attention to the discursive thoughts arising and passing away, eventually they begin to settle and the quietness of the natural mind becomes more obvious. In this way, yes it is possible to quiet your mind.
@GlobalWellBeing7 жыл бұрын
+StepvantGarde I just read this and thought you might enjoy reading it as well 😀 "Meditation is not a way of making your mind quiet. It is a way of entering into the quiet that is already there - buried under the 50,000 thoughts the average person thinks every day." ~ Deepak Chopra

What do you mean by "Quiet"? If it means "shut up", no Mind can't and shouldn't do that. If it mean being free from "Ego" and to experience our own 'true nature", yes it's possible and even necessary.

MR.Durai is still caught up in name , belief, books and buildings, unless you drop that you will never get entry in the kingdom of God.Christians, Muslims, Hindus all stand out. They are not at all outstanding, without knowing your own SELF. No need to follow Christ, Krishna, Mohammad or Buddha, try to be one of them.That's sufficient.

@@davidcervenka1282 there is a being, wonderful, perfect, it existed before heaven and Earth, how quiet it is! How spiritual it is! It stands alone and it doesn't change. @@davidcervenka1282 no disrespect intended. I was thinking more like U.G. Krishnamurti would respond. Seemed appropriate. We must hold one another up to scrutiny and guard against putting too much importance on one particular person or idea. That's all.
