Taiju went to his knees because takemitchi land a solid hit to his jaw. In boxing if you hit your opponent's jaw your opponent will lose balance and fall down.

Actually, Takemichi punched Taiju right in the jaw: it breaks your balance and makes you feel dizzy. As we saw, after he recovered, Taiju was completely fine again, because Takemichi's punch didn't hurt per se. But it made an impression on everyone, which is the most important. It's no small feat for Takemichi!

On the punch that takemichi landed. I feel the reason he made taiju fall was mainly because of where the punch landed (near chin) which leads to losing partialy legs control and it's a location in the human body who sometimes can lead even people to get K.O'ed. One more thing is that takemichi usually doesn't land punches due to his lack of expirience on fighting, plus he never really learned how to defend himself properly. So basicly we don t know how strong takemichi can be.

I don’t recall anyone other than takemichi connecting with other a solid punch, I knew for a fact that takeMichi’s fist where gold but to actually see it connect and make a monster like taiju say “ that wouldn’t hurt a flee” only to find himself on his knees had me gassed 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯

It was also important for Inui and Koko to see that to earn some respect. You do see throughout the series that Takemichi can hit hard when he lands and means it. This isn't the last time.

As a manga reader, Mikey vs Taiju is one of the more influential fights on Mikeys character development(Mikey is also mentally unstable due to the death of his friends, that’s why he seems strangely happy despite seeing his friends legit bleeding from every angle(this also isn’t a spoiler btw, Kisaki states this in the cafe after the meeting))

That punch was all takemichi, hakkai was the last to fight him and he couldn’t knock taiju down, takemichi deserves all the credit for that punch

I actually do feel empathy for Taiju. He needs therapy and his mind is completely twisted, but you can see he is sad that yuzuha and hakkai hate him enough to try to kill him. Besides everyone will like him in the future.

This episode was so hype... And no, I don't agree with you. Takemichi struck a blow to his chin and if you hit a guy in a chin, it doesn't matter if you're a mountain or a mouse, you're getting knocked to your knees at least to credit where credit is due. But this episode was absolutely amazing and it's not over now that Mikey has joined the frey.

Actually it's always been hinted that takemichi isn't really weak and he never was. I think it's done better in the manga but while Takemichi at this point is not the strongest , the rare time we see him actually throwing a punch, we can see that it does damage. And by the end of the manga , you understand why he seems weak when in reality he really isn't.

PPL are seriously downgrading Takemichi . I mean come on guys , can't you just accept the fact that he makes being like Taiju on his knees on his own. First of all, Taiju is one of the strongest character of TR and his durability is also insane because of his large body and muscles. Baji defeated 50 toman members even after being seriously stabbed. And Taiju's wound was not so deep. He trained his body through hell to build a physique like this. So of course that stab was not a big deal for Taiju. Second , yeah Taiju was starting to be exhausted after fighting Mitsuya and punching Takemichi so many times but I am sure when Takemichi punched him, Taiju was easily on at least 50% power. Characters like Draken & Mikey are foreshadowing Takemichi so hard. Remember in the 1st season, he killed kiyomasa by his own strength, that was the guy who punches Kisaki in toman's meeting, holding baji from going for few seconds and he was the guy who was blowing much older and experienced delinquent of Valhallah with single punches like they were nothing. 🤷 Yeah his speed and tactics are nearly 0 but his strength is already above average and on that punch , he was firing all of his emotions, that's why that was the strongest punch Taiju faced. Even sometimes later, hakai also punches Taiju with all of his strength but that punches were nothing for Taiju.
