Top 3 Lessons In Life from LSV: 1. Don't stress about things you can't control. 2. Be okay losing. Losing is definitely a part of life. You will miss out on things that you like, you will be disappointed, and how you deal with that is a really big step. [It is] something I've had trouble with plenty of times in my life, you know? And it is something that is really important because how you do when you don't get something you want, I think, is a lot more important than how you do when you are winning. 3. Always go for the extra guac.

The Riley Knight voice EXPLOSION at double the video's volume is a bad look. Whoever is the editor needs to normalize the volume. This isn't cable TV.

The sound levels in CFB videos are always way out of whack. Reid's often very quiet and riley's loud. When they have an intro card with sound, there's no excuses not to balance volume levels to it for each video.

I remember to have put it in many slow doomsday piles in EDH. That card is great as your last card in deck.
@jenius003 жыл бұрын
1:05:51 I think you discounted Ingenious Mastery's alternative cost. It would have drawn you exactly 3 cards, cost 3 mana, and left you 9 to cast Approach and win on the spot, negating any benefit your opponent would gain from the alternative cost. Sure, it's hard to imagine what out your opponent had, but if you can end the game with a win, it's always best to deny your opponent another turn.

I had to watch in slow motion, I see him check before his next turn starts, it's 4 cards deep. I see him check after he draws card for turn, it's still 4 cards deep. I think he may have checked in the window between the animation and the card officially leaving the library and entering his hand. That's a bug in my mind; once the card is revealed, it's no longer in the deck. Or maybe I'm missing something.
@ChrisWalter05173 жыл бұрын
He checked after drawing off the bookworm and it was 3 further
@jenius003 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisWalter0517 So it was. Looking back through it all, it showed his library state as it was after his draw phase, even though no damage animation let alone next turn animate had occurred. It looks like the game state moved through all the auto pass phases immediately and played through the animation queue. If he had full control on I suspect we would have seen something different during that check before the animation moved to his draw for the turn.

Honestly I think Vanishing Verse is actually quite bad. None of the signpost uncommons or high tier commons. You need to be able to kill Quandrix Pledgemage, Witherbloom Apprentice, Blood Researcher, and other premium threats.

@@WFDConnorI can name like a dozen mono-colored commons I’m actively unhappy to target with this and that’s just the mono colored ones. Having actually played the card in several drafts I’ve moved it way down in my pick order in bo1 and usually end up siding it out multiple times in bo3
@lukep6923 жыл бұрын
@@WFDConnor I promise, if you look over the list of commons you’ll probably realize that Lash of Malice is not only better, but significantly better, and that valuing Vanishing Verse as anything but pretty conditional removal is likely a mistake. I'm only just noticing it, but Arena matches (with all of the rules text hidden) are pretty much impossible to enjoy if you haven't learned all of the cards already. Magic Online, for all its faults, at least made it so you could learn a format by watching videos like these.
@phillipmichalowski3 жыл бұрын
I find that at least in some moments (when casting spells, or when hovering over cards) you can see the text and pause. Magic online was like this as well, especially in the past when video quality was low and it would be difficult to make out the text on the cards
