Great film. I get that you want to keep the exact location confidential however it would make the story more interesting to throw out some hints as to the rivers being fished so the viewers can at least use their imagination. I have always believed that PNW rivers are a huge part of the folklore and mystery that makes the sport so intriguing.

If I was younger, I would get a little place up there for the summers. We are in Florida. Josh, you are a great fly caster, and I would say it is the Lefty Kreh style. In Northern California, we fish out of aluminum Jon boats like yours.

@Catch Magazine Todd Moen I cannot believe you were fishing with the bears at Brooks Falls. Had to be an adrenaline rush. I know they were focused on catching fish but cubs in the vicinity raised the risk exponentially. Glad you made the trip safely and captured some quality footage.

Great story! The author, the area, the fly fishing, and the steelhead, gave me a realistic mental escape to a wonderous place! Thank you! 👍😊🐟

Great video but 2 things i gotta ask. First off whats up with the sore spots on those cutthroat? A fish or 2 is one thing but you were catching multiple fish with those dark blotches hope its not a disease. 2nd,did you keep any of those coho? Don't get me wrong I support catch and release i do so myself but how can you not wanna keep a fresh ocean caught salmon? At least 1 or 2 of those fish would've been in my cooler😋

I have to admit Todd Moen has such a gift bringing us these amazing spots to catch our beloved fish, An absolute legend among anglers across the world. The music , vibrancy and scenery and the angler pitting his wits against these wonderful wild creatures. My Salmon season here in England starts in 6 days, my veins are pulsing. Thank you

Some great tips. Good point. While we prefer wading upstream at times you just can't do it. Improvise.

The BEST fly fishing content on You Tube - true filmmaking and storytelling by Todd! And there is no better angler than Brian - love watching him. Plus, Brian has exemplary fish handling skills. 99% of those posting their fishing videos should learn from these guys. Thanks!

I enjoyed watching this film, you can see how everyone loved the whole experience learning, teaching, and spending time with Charlie showing him how to cast, catch and appreciate the fish and the environment. I take my son fishing and know how lucky I am to spend time with him enjoying the great outdoors.
