Superb video! This is the first time I'm seeing Eric Peter and Peer Wyboris, long time familiar to me from the records with Tete and Lucky Thompson among others. This is a real trio with Tete of course leading the way. No wonder they stayed together for so many years!

In the short time Tete Montoliu lived in NYC back in 1967, he played in the village vanguard on monday nights. In those days Bill Evans had his gigs on Sunday, where Tete went every week to hear him. And in mondays Bill Evans used to pay back the visit going to Tete´s gig. Mutual respect between this great pianists.

Not quite! Tete NEVER lived in NYC and NEVER worked in Vanguard. He visited NY in summer 1967 and played solo piano for 3 weeks at Village Gate and on Sundays, his night off, he went to hear Bill at the Vanguard, who on Mondays, HIS night off came to the Gate to hear Tete. You are correct, however, about heir mutual respect and friendship. Tete said he cried when he learned about Bill's untimely death in September 1980.
