I had a stroke at age 12. I'm 21 now and I almost recoverd completely... I can't move my hand, but I learned doing everything alone. I'm very glad for the stroke, because I became a relly strong person. I live for my dream, and I never give up.

This is why I want to be a Neurologist once I finish college. Being a Neurologist would just change everyone's lives that are sufferers of a stroke. I want to put my entire life, dedicate my life, to helping people like this. No one should go through this, but if they do, I want to help.

So my 24-year-old boy just had five Strokes in 3 hours a week ago and by some miracle of God he seems to be just fine. It was the exact same situation with the hole in the heart that nobody knew about. I have been absolutely terrified as to what his future may hold but watching this video just brought me a small comfort that was desperately needed at this time. Thanks for putting it out there and just know you eased at least one mother's mind a little tiny bit. Much love from the Adirondack Mountains

Wow. I can't even find anyone or anything that compares to me so much. I also had a stroke 2 years ago, at 16 and I had 4 blood clots some in my left leg and some went into my heart because I also have a whole in my heart, but they travelled to my brain I was in the hospital for a month and a half, I couldn't move my whole left side. My leg was easy to get back to normal but my arm and hand, it's getting there but it's defiantly still slow, my voice isn't as normal as what it was.. but it sounds normal to other people. I worked at McDonald's and I was getting ready for work, I was in the bathroom and then I fell, I didn't even know why but I looked in the mirror and half of my face was droopy I couldn't do anything with my left hand so I stumbled out of the bathroom and someone came in and they called the ambulance, after that I do not remember. But I also used to play rugby, volleyball and all of that fun stuff. And now I'm not even sure if I can have babies I know next week though, Thank the lord for everyone that was helping me though :) I just wanted to share this because I thought our stroke was very much alike :)

I had a stroke the day after Christmas 🎄 I’m 24 rn but I’m going to make a full recovery. I’m not taking anything less because anything is possible. Tomorrow I’m going running and I’m going to dribble with my weak side until it’s strong again

@@aotone what happened how did you have a stroke? Did you feel symptoms before?
@aotone
@aotone 4 жыл бұрын
@@DistopiaKosaki I took impact to the right side of my neck the night of Christmas & it split a artery in my neck that I couldn’t feel at all. The next morning I woke up thinking I had a migraine but I couldn’t walk on my left side or use my left hand like that. So I told my mom something was wrong. I was so athletic and I’m so young nobody thought of stroke. I went to the bathroom to look in the mirror idky I did but I did and I looked perfectly fine. No droopy face. But when I layed down and couldn’t get up again I went to the hospital. As soon as I got to the hospital I kept throwing up to the point everytime I tried to walk I got nauseous. It took them about an hour of me throwing up just for them to get me in the room with the nurse for her to ask me what’s wrong then another 15 minutes to get into a room. They were lollygagging while I was having a stroke. I couldn’t really see out my left eye like that & my head was hurting so bad. They gave me medicine to help me fall asleep and I fell asleep and woke up 2 weeks later. I missed New Years. But I have to say if you really work your ass off you can definitely improve ALOT !! I started walking a month into rehab. Literally the week before leaving rehab I was walking. It wasn’t great walking but I was walking and now I could walk for as long as I want. It doesn’t look the same !! But it’s similar & I know it will come as I get my stability better. And my leg stronger. My affected side is my left side. I think the most important thing to work on is the arm because your leg gets work automatically when you wake up , you have to get up in the morning or constantly work it to move around. I have ideas I have been putting together to help . Like with your affected side hand try holding a wet bar of soap 🧼 at the end of the soap and hold it with your thumb index finger and middle finger & also get a coloring book & color in it ! And bounce a basketball 500 times a day !! I don’t have a lot but doing this everyday should really train your hand ! & also work out !! Even if it doesn’t seem like it doesn’t help do it !!! I’m in my 10th month of recovery! Just bc I was so athletic I feel like I’m 30% back but if I was never athletic I would be 90% back

Bilal Khalid this was what happened when I realized I had a stroke. When I got up from bed in the morning the right side of my body including leg and hand and right face got numbed. I was 41 that time. I did feel tired for says prior to that. What symptoms did you have before that and how it happened?

I hope you are doing better now. In my case I had a strange feeling with pain in my head and blurred vision. My face was fine and I went to hospital emergency on my own. That's why they misdiagnosed and thought it's migraine. In young people some times clear symptoms don't show up. Unfortunately I was one of them.

Mike my son had 3 major strokes and was diagnosed with Bechets disease as the main diagnosis and CNS vasculitis and the secondary. He was 8 when this happened to him. He is still in treatment so his blood vessels don't inflame and cause another stroke. He is treated at Nemours children's hospital in Orlando FL. If you need a good doctor, we are treated by Dr Finkel there. Hope this helps 🙏😊
