If you are currently working in the neuro setting or aspire to become specialized in working with patients living with neurologic conditions, you have to meet Dr. Michael Ang. He is very special to me not only because he is my former professor from USC, but his inspiration continued in my life as he was my mentor and instructor for the Certified Neuro Specialist course. Dr. Ang is currently an associate professor of Occupational Therapy at the West Coast University and the lead instructor at The Neuro Specialist Institute. In addition to the number of advanced practice certifications he holds in neurological rehabilitation, he also won a Raise Award in 2018, which is Raising Awareness in Stroke Excellence with the National Stroke Association. Most recently he won the Occupational Therapy Faculty of the Year award in 2019 and the NBCOT Impact Award in 2021. This is a man filled to the brim with passion for teaching. Needless to say, I am thrilled and exceedingly grateful to have him join us to share his expertise and shed light on some of the ways we can apply the knowledge we learn from textbooks into real life clinical application.
