I have long term persistent afib that was treated by means of 2 ablations. NSR was maintained with sotolol and occasional cardioversions. Finally the sotolol, (200 mg/day) would no longer allow me to stay in NSR, and the Q-T interval was near max allowable, (so no dosage increase was possible). I had a dual lead pacemaker installed which allowed the sotolol dose to be increased to 240 mg/day After subsequent cardioversion, I am once again in NSR. I did not have an AV node ablation. So far, I am maintaining NSR, and feel great. My stroke risk is always under review, and without a complete review of my condition it is impossible for you to assess that risk. However, I noticed that you did not discuss family history in regard to stroke risk. Although both sides of my family have had issues with diabetes and afib, there have been zero incidents of stroke. My relatives generally live into their nineties, (unless they were smokers). Is there any evidence of a genetic link to stroke risk? Thank you for your informative videos. You bridge an important gap between busy cardiologists and patients who can benefit from in depth exploration of health topics.

Dr gupta sir very nicely you have explained the relationship between a fib and stroke vis a vis those who have also other symptoms such as HBP etc. Your video is easily understandable, I m very much impressed with your way of narrating the whole issue. Good wishes god bless you 12/11/2019
