It seems like you are judging THEM. Look, just because somebody doesn't cry because of how beautiful something is doesn't mean they don't like it. The core denizens of this place are retired old Scandihoovians*, then you get the hipsters and people that just come in for the strong, cheap drinks. Of course nobody knew him. The tiny little Alaskan Native who came up to compliment him at the end, I knew her. I think of the entire pub, she appreciated him most. She's passed away now. The bartender at the very end, I know her well, too. (love her. the bartenders at this little dive are wonderful, some working there for more than 30 years). I can't wait till it's safe to go back in the bar again. Miss that place. *Scandihoovians: *Scandinavians, Danes, Swedes, Norwegians, etc from the Ballard area of Seattle

I've watched this lots of times in the last couple of months and only just noticed that the official video for the song is on the screen behind him (from 5:38 - it's blurry but definitely the video of him in Brussels) so surely some of the patrons must realize he's no ordinary karaoke singer. He's got such distinctive features that they'd realize he's the guy in the video. I actually think it's beautiful the way the crowd is won over by his talent, energy and commitment as well as the multiple, layered musical hooks in the song. I just love this song and my 5-year-old daughter loves saying "formidable". I hope he's doing okay and would love to see him in concert one day.

I had a break up when i first heard this song. It had been probably a week and i still hadn't come to the realisation that it was over. It was only until i listened to the song that it finally sank in. I had some big cries over the following months and watching the part where he said "let's make them cry". It all came flooding back. It's been 3 years and still it manages to affect me this much. Beautiful artist, powerful song.
