I've had 2 of these that are now gone.. Currently on my third one. Third times the charm!

Thank you for the information. I’d like to add an important feature; even diluted fertilisers and tap water can cause significant damage.

I have several Triostars, 2 of them are huge. They are in 3 gallon pots, very full and lush, just beautiful! I put them in my shower once a week for a good soaking. In between, I mist them daily. The leaves love to be misted even if you're not watering the plant at that moment. Thanks for your video, it was very informative 😀👍

I've read that misting does nothing.
@msscamp100 Жыл бұрын
@@baublesanddolls It depends on how you mist. If you're only going to mist once a week, then it doesn't do much. I mist my plants a couple of times a day, and they seem to like it.

I really know what you are talking about when you say it is not an easy plant. I have mine over 1 year and it was not a good shape when I took it. I am trying and trying to see it in bright colors but man I think it is going to be a long journey:)

I got one about 3 months ago and it’s still alive! I was extremely nervous at first. It has gotten a few brown tips and spots but over all it’s doing great and has new growth coming up. I’ve heard “it’s a great plant to look at from a distance or without your glasses” 🤣 I’ve started watering all my plants with only with filtered water, no tap. I boil filtered water everyday for some humidity. Some use the distilled water. What do you water with? It’s a very stunning plant. One of my favorites for sure. This was great video thank you for your tips 🙏

I've only had one of these and it died a HORRIBLE death😬 but I'm definitely willing to give it another go! Great tips! I would LOVE to see a video in the future on the Jungle Velvet! I just recently bought one and it's quickly become my favorite houseplant, but I'm SUPER paranoid that will go the way of my poor triostar so I could definitely use some tips on her🙏😬

This was a great video, I especially needed to hear rule #1 and that it’ll come to you on it’s own time! Haha Thanks! I used to brag how lush and perfect mine was then the drama started, I’ve moved her back to a bit brighter light and I think we’re back on good terms. Never hear prayer plants referred to as doing the “goal post” or “in the club” before. 😂 Love it.. I’ll have to check out your other videos!

It honestly and truly will , Plants like these you often have to try fail and try again to get it right. I've had to do that with several different plants over the years

I’m dyingggg 😂😂😂⚰️⚰️⚰️💀💀💀 Is your prayer plant living on a prayer Ok... now that I’m done laughing... I’m about to cry... I just got my very first plant delivered today and it’s this little guy... I researched and I thought it was a relatively easy plant to care for... but I think they meant it was easier than the one I wanted before which was the White Fusion... 😐😐😐😐 ... omg I have more plants on the way... Pray for ME!!!

You can do this! It's all about the humidity and the consistent regular watering. Just don't let it dry out and don't let the sun burn it. And just keep on rocking!
@janknuckey3 жыл бұрын
Actually, this is one of the more forgiving of the calathea/Prayer Plant family. As long as they are watered correctly, fed correctly and get the right amount of light, they are very forgiving. My one special tip is to mist it regularly. In fact, that whole family of plants benefit from misting.

I've found that my Stromanthes and Ctenanthes thrive when placed in a cache pot and then put in a large clear tote filled with water and fertilizer to half the height of the cache pot. This provides a larger pool of constant humidity. It seems to be more effective than the pebble tray alone in my environment. I bring it out and group it with other plants when I want to spend time with it and admire it's beauty. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
