Jake Gyllenhaal on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight: INTERVIEW

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has a close Canadian connection. Two of his recent films Enemy and Prisoners were directed by Quebecoise director Denis Villeneuve.
He talked to George about those films and much more during this interview.

I just found this program here and have never seen it, living in the States. I LOVE this interviewer and his style, its got so much depth in the questions he poses to the Actors and you get more of a sense of an actual person being there (the actor/actress) as opposed to any American interview were all i get is gossip, rumors, and advertisement plugs :P Thanks George for a great show!

I have just learnt that the show is not on anymore. Does George have another one? His interviews are so articulate, funny and he makes his interviewees so relaxed. The questions are not boring and he certainly listens to the answers (sounds trange but, not every interviewer seems to).

ummm sean no offence man... but do you know what a "torrent" is.... and yes i did watch both enemy and nightcrawler... but i thought "prisoners" was the better than both... maybe jake performed better in nightcrawler. but as in of a story "prisoners" was better... :) and there is obviously other great movies for him like "end of watch" "jarhead" i mean the list goes on and on :P

I haven't see Prisoners or nightcrawler, but I heard good things about it. I'm currently taking time off of watching Idris Elba to watch Fringe. But I might squeeze Prisoners and Nightcrawler into my schedule. I love Jake Gyllenhaal. I love how suave he is especially in his roles.

I think it's his prep work. He is genuinely intimate with the work and lives of the people he interviews - so many times I've heard an interviewee make a slight remark on something that happened ages ago, and George is right there and familiar with the incident and everything else that was going on in the interviewees life at the time without missing a beat. And by being so familiar, he can spark conversations that genuinely interest them rather than being like "List your top three favorite colours lol" which is sorta what you said.

Mike Mecek No, the crowd is attentive and actively wants to learn about the guest. If you want a barrage of quick cheap laughs watch an American late night talk show. You may even find out what Jake's favourite colour is, too, if you do!
