Joshua Jackson has managed to pull off what a lot of actors don't. He went from being a teen idol, to a serious actor working with some of Hollywood's biggest stars. Joshua got his start at age 9, when he landed the role of 'Charlie' in that Emilio Estevez classic "Mighty Ducks." That film was a hit and he went on to star in the sequels. By 1998, they knew who he was down in Hollywood so he landed the 'Dawson's Creek' gig and for six seasons, he was pretty much every teenage girls' "imaginary" boyfriend. Along the way he starred in movies like "Scream 2" and "Skulls." He played a gay teenager in "Cruel Intentions" along with the lovely Sarah Michelle Gellar. When Dawson's Creek ended in 2002 Josh went on to look for "more mature" films. There was "I Love Your Work" alongside Giovanni Ribisi and Christina Ricci. 'Aurora Borealis' with Donald Sutherland and Juliette Lewis and 'Bobby' with Anthony Hopkins and Helen Hunt. Last year, Joshua returned to TV as Peter Bishop, in the series "Fringe." He also came back to Canada to star in the road movie "One Week" - a film about a young man's motorcycle trip from Toronto to Vancouver.

Joshua is one of those few actors with natural charisma which allows him to play many characters. I wonder why he hasn't been more successful.

I’m soo late to Joshua Jackson train. I just came onto Dawson’s Creek and I absolutely love him. He’s soooo talented. But my fav thing about him is the way he says the word “gonna.” That is sooo weird, I know, but it’s very appealing.

Josh has style and as another commenter pointed out, charisma I love Fringe and think it's one of the most underrated shows ever! The reason I wanted to post though is because of the statement I heard about the whole "Doctor has given you a year to live" thing. I want to shake things up for anybody and everybody and declare that the doctors do not know exactly when you may kick the ol' bucket so to speak! lol There are a number of factors here, most not physiological in nature but to save time I'll say it like this; When we have symptoms that by definition align with certain conditions an MD weighs the probability and makes the determination to indeed call it "such and such" disease. The trouble is that many times we may deal with varying health conditions and work through them without having even gone to get a check up but sometimes when we do hear that we have a condition we become anchored to it! Especially when dealing with someone in such a high authoritarian position! Merely suspecting and taking known steps to work with the causes of these "Diss-eases" that have graduated to full blown diseases on our own in our more casual way with some conditions have been better because they never actually had such a heavy weight and anchor dropped in their laps! However there are a plethora of examples and cases where a very trusting patient upon hearing grievous news actually subconsciously live up to suspected effects and outcomes of a particular condition all the way to the point of death! And believe i or not, even in cases where patients should have made a full recovery or even having been misdiagnosed to begin with! Even arguing the case to prove their "sickness!" In sociology it's called Self Fulfilling Prophecy. Then There is the very real element of faith! It can be the tipping point that leads a person directly out of the harsh thinking associated with receiving news of illness. Last thing, In high grade sociology there are five levels of health, not just one or two! Physical, Social, Emotional, Spiritual and Mental and they all work with each other... If you are a youngster in school getting pressure from a bully at school it may effect you not just socially but mentally, emotionally and physically too with loss of sleep an nervous diss-eases begging to form lick nervous ticks and so on. So I hope this will help some of you someday and just knowing that there are 5 levels of health may help you to turn your mountains into tiny, more manageable piles!

My neighbor back in Melbourne is an avid 4x4 driver. He drove from Melbourne to Perth where he met up with his brother from Denmark. So his brother asked how far the drive was. About 3000km which blew his brothers mind. That's the same as Denmark to middle of North Africa a whole different continent. Now that is a crazy comparison.

I don't like him. I mean, it's nothing personal but i always feel he's the only actor in Fringe who doesn't fit in. He isn't a brilliant actor neither as John Noble and Anna Torv eat him alive in every single scene during the show. Thanks to the direction of story his character is just in the middle of action but until those changes, he was like a ghost there.
