I had a friend, supposedly a friend, put a rock in a pipe and had me smoke it and boy, was that the best feeling. He would give it to me a rock every time I'd come over and many years later, I asked him why he did that? He said "because I was trying to make you a customer". He was a good-looking guy and he let his life go down the tubes. Now he has Parkinson's disease. Thank God I never got hooked but got really close.

The end, on the beach is what makes this a great movie. Yes heroin withdrawal is so much worse than the movie portrays it, but it's not the bulk of the movie. This movie is about the message to addicts! Just be. Be in the moment. Get out of the what ifs of the past and the future, and learn to be greatful in the moment.

Thank you Allen white for sharing story very disturbing but none the less but true we in our addictions, yes I'm an addict with a touch of whiskey to say it nicely or a drunk of it all raised all kinds of HELL", 3 wife's and a hundred girlfriends at 58 but always knew SOBRIETY BEST for me, now living with a wife 17 years together 10 of it lost together in addiction she frail of admitting addiction I know I'm a successful addict and know I'm a LOSSING addict wanting to stop but called a hateful killer by her never killing anyone I know I'm tuff and will fight at the drop of you not paying up and will with my wife lying saying I am but have tried to express to her how do we both quite if I or you don't want to the movie challenges but I the man that wants to quit and she the women not wanting to but knowing my pretensths it's killing me kill or be killed

Not terrible, although not particularly original either. A few familiar faces and talented participants in this one, thanks for sharing it, it's a new one for me. Ironically enough they use a few Brian Jonestown Massacre songs on the soundtrack, another band nearly destroyed by hard drug abuse and addiction. By the time I got to see them 15 years ago or so in NYC they had cleaned up apparently, at least they weren't fistfighting onstage anymore by then.
