After 3000 years, he grew stronger and stronger to the point that he became too strong that the other 11 cannot even defeat him anymore. He was not trying to revive all 11 he only had 2 bodies with him. He revived one and made him sleep again when the demons came. That was why he said to echidna there are 2 working cores. One is from him and the other one was from the one he revived but deactivated again. He just wanted to become a hero and wanted the other DH become villains. Good thing the demons came since he wanted humans to be on the brink of extinction caused by the other DH.

In all honesty this is double heartbreaking because I know another character who's mentality reached that point and it's played out in three different ways all of which explains why he wants to kill himself without doing suicide. he was at the stage where he was afraid that he would become the villain. an unstoppable one that would bring an unending cycle of calamity and rebirth. so he finds a group of demons that want peace with humans, offers them his heart (the philosopher's stone) in order to make the demon realm plentiful. this shit hit hard as i thought this show was going to be a generic OP MC harem military rebuilding fantasy anime. when we got the world's lore dump, it hit me that this anime was going to be alot different from what i thought it was going to be. this shitty anime actually brought tears to my eyes in this scene when i first saw it. just the slow realization on the demons that the hero was seriously gonna do everything he threatened them with if they let him go or ran.

yknow watching this episode I still can’t help but ask if the way his character was setup is intentional, to me, it doesn’t seems like he’s depressed, suicidal or wanting to take it out on others. Rather, this feels like trying to gain a reaffirmation that he no longer bears the duty of a hero. A testament to the end of his heroic life and his final act under the identity of the Hero, Leo Demonhart.

So, in terms of what I understand, it goes like this: There are op demons Then there are Overlord. (Some OP Demon are even more stronger than an overlord) Overlord (Come from other different dimension/universe) Then there are Gods Of Overlord Overlord Of Terror So, this guy, from what I can see, he is like an Overlord with the power equivalent to tons and many of the mainstream overlords. The show. it's very very good. don't listen to the haters that thought this show was a Realist Hero due to episode one when later episodes have proven why the show is called I Quit Heroing. but I will say this: this is NOT an Isekai. this isn't a Summoned to another world and given immense power to fight the demons. the MC has a legit reason for being so strong. again, watch it. then again, if you're like those action thirsty freaks then don't cause the first 8 episodes builds up the story for the plot twist that is the ending of episode 9.

Shutina was spot on with what Leo is trying to do, and she's about to seal the deal but Leo attacked her and not finish her statement grrrrr. OOF (It was a paradox and a conflict of id and ego, and Shutina and Melnes figured out the folly of Leo's plans) So pay attention to the next episode and the 8th episode (the Eibrad one). The next episode will give a flashback on how Leo came up with this plan and what was he about to do before the plan, and his true feeling of wanting to live but didn't know how so he settled for dying and just giving Echidna the Philosopher's Stone. The 8th episode + Shutina's and the others statements will come in handy for the last episode.
