I’m an x gang member turned Lutheran/Christian 17 years ago after serving time for my gang related crimes and Tupac was a huge voice in our circles as we felt like he spoke to us about the struggles in the world that we could relate to. However, it was backed by a lot of hostility which fed our own. I’m not blaming him but that music has an effect on the spirit of man. As I listened to this interview and the things he was saying it brought to the surface again a lot of those old “excuses” I used to keep sinning and running from God. Tupac was a strong influencer of the mentality that we are somehow victims rather than the accomplices with Satan which he was. It’s hard to watch because unrepentant man does not see himself as he truly is, namely a rebel against God who isn’t playing hide and seek with us but has revealed himself to us so we have no excuse. Now I can say these things because I was once like this and have hindsight to it all. Ephesians 1-2 becomes all the more real when considering these things. Flame I wish I could meet you and I know we would have a great time fellowshipping together talking about many things. May God keep on enriching you with the knowledge that leads to eternal life.

Honestly speaking, this was hard to hear, especially since I’ve grown in my faith. It’s always interesting to go back & revisit these types of interviews & you hear the anger, the confusion, etc. that you didn’t hear before because you were such a big fan. It’s so…interesting. Thank you for your insight.

have you done a video about Kodak Black? his album Dying To Live is incredible in my opinion and very committed to Christian truths on some songs. but on other albums and songs he has fallen away from that. but he really speaks to struggles with conscience and sin that i really identify with. would love to hear your thoughts on that
