I grew up Lutheran and never paid attention in church. I started following Christ around 12 years ago. The more i learn the more i became disgruntled with Dispensationalism and Calvinism. About 2 months ago i decided to return to Lutheranism. Its been amazing all of the joy i feel after being so disgruntled for the last few years. I have to thank Flame, Bryan Wolfmueller, Jordan Cooper and others for helping me find the truth i was looking for. God bless yall. Most importantly i thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

John 6:53 is a verse from the Bible. It says, "Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you"

Sadly people read what they want to into scripture, not necessarily what it actually says.

I was re-reading the John MacArthur study bible notes...and he says that the verse in 1 Peter 3 that follows which says, "...not the removal of dirt from the body" means it isn't talking about baptism in water. I get it...they can't fit it into their theology, so they find excuses to not believe what it says about baptism. I laughed about this with my wife the other day. If you meet someone who calls himself/herself a "Baptist," you might think they'd hold baptism in really high regard as a Sacrament. It's right in their name! But it's just the opposite: it's usually limited to being a profession of faith, or a sign of God's grace, or a symbol. It isn't a true means of grace that can regenerate and save sinners. And it definitely isn't meant to be something to give you assurance...that would be trusting in your works! 😅 I feel sad for people who are lead astray by leaders who get around the plain reading of the text because they can't fit it into their theology. May God open their eyes to the truth in his Word and not be lead astray.

Lol I noticed that, too. 😆 The name doesn’t hold as much weight seeing baptism is taught as a time to prove how sincere you are to others and to God. Certainly, not a means of salvific grace in that space. I sympathize, though. I was taught that and taught it to others for 18 years. Yikes! Yep, praying for them, also. Thanks for posting, bro! 🫡

Jesus got baptized...sooooooo he wasn't saved before that? Idk big dog! Baptism is definitely a public proclamation, but how do you say Jesus wasn't saved before his Baptism.
@ExtraNosAcademy7 күн бұрын
Thanks for commenting. God’s peace. 1. Jesus does not need to be “saved.” He is the God-man. His baptism was to fulfill all righteousness according to Matthew 3:15 “But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.” 2. Jesus’s baptism was for us. To take on our sin and lawlessness. Our baptism is in His. We died when he went under. We raised when He came out the water. We are pleasing to God because Jesus was declared to be pleasing to the Father in His baptism as the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove. 3. Where is the Bible does it say, “baptism is definitely a public proclamation?” Can you cite any passage that teaches that? 4. The Bible is clear: Acts 22:16 “And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’” And (to list a few): 1 Peter 3:21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” By faith alone, one receives the forgiveness of sins through baptism, as the Holy Spirit says. Baptism is God’s work; not ours. He gives the gift of faith to receive forgiveness via baptism. Again, please post scriptures *specifically* on baptism (not faith alone, thus changing the subject) to make your claim that baptism is a public proclamation. Thx for engaging.

People that don't read the Bible have no right to argue about the Bible. It's like saying Esther doesn't belong in the Bible because it never mentions God's name.

Hey brother huge fan of yours I listen to your neo ethos album almost every day. I am from a non denominational low church background. I hungered for an historical church after studying church history I ended up with orthodoxy but I still love the western tradition would you ever consider attending an eastern liturgy ? maybe a pascha service liturgy
@ExtraNosAcademy7 күн бұрын
Thx for posting and for enjoying the album! I love my family in both those spaces, however, neither Rome nor the Orthodox understand justification by faith the way the Holy Spirit taught it to Paul and the other NT writers. Not to mention, their views on the Sacraments go beyond scripture and the early Church fathers and include too much philosophy to get at the mystery--to name but only a few reasons, respectfully. Much more can be said. Thanks for asking.

I understand we don’t see eye on eye on everything but I meant just to attend a liturgy like the cathedral basilica of st. louis is roman catholic and you went for your liturgy assignment even though you aren’t roman catholic. Would you consider a dialogue with father Josiah Trenham he comes from a protestant background. If you study the orthodox view of justification it is faith that works through love and this teaching comes from the fathers. Works alone salvation is condemned by the church. If we say we are saved by a true faith alone knowing that the true faith will produce good fruit that’s how we can reconcile sola fide with the orthodox and RC position. James 2 is pretty clear brother and St. Clement of Rome does say we are justified by faith but he also goes on to mention Abraham’s works in reference to James 2:24. I heavily considered lutheranism brother but it was challenging because I had to discern between confessional and progressive lutherans it was hard. while with orthodox all churches are confessional all churches are conservative and there’s even a western rite now which looks very similar to the lutheran and latin mass. I also didn’t understand why Luther ended monasticism it goes back to the ancient times of the church he a monk married a nun and helped many monks and nuns leave. I also didn’t understand why lutherans don’t have the deutercanon because it has references in the bible. Jesus celebrating Hanukkah found in 2 Maccabees. a portion of the Lord’s prayer from sirach, The one looking for a better resurrection in Hebrews 11 etc and those books were chosen at the councils of rome carthage and hippo along with the NT canon but other than those things man I can admire Lutherans have a lot more in common with the historic church and I appreciate that Luther wanted to reform the church not erase everything. There’s a former lutheran pastor in my church

Bra, You are so lost. We are the Israelites of the Bible. All those other names and titles of heathen churches we have No thing to do with. We have to wake Up. Read scripture as an Israelite, then things make more sense. They know you are an Israelite, You dont!. Wake Up please and stop regurgitating this slave teachings that You are a Gentile bc you are not.
