Having tried both. I much prefer this over the EDP. I plan on replacing my EDP bottle with this when it runs out. My take is it emphasizes the spiciness of the one and dials back the sweetness. Another way I'd describe it is slightly darker more mature/masculine interpretation of the one.

I believe Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De LHomme is a better choice than D&G The One EDP. They both don't perform that great, but Ysl is the better pick. I've never smelt D&G The One Mysterious Night.

Ah, I love The One Royal Night. 👍🏻 Absolutely agree, tobacco in some situations is not called for. This is an elegant scent, lasts long on the skin but isn't loud. I have all D&G The One releases. This should win the first place along with the original EDP..

So when u first spray the Royal night 1 do u get like a real strong almost chocolate dark smokey woody smell that's not in the DG EDP beginning? LOL I'm not sure if I'm describing it right but it's a real distinctive smell that's definitely not in the EDP?

EDP about 5 hours low projection, the smell is widely considered to be 10/10 but the performance is sad. For the price (especially at discounters) it is worth it but you will need a travel spray to reapply every 3-5 hours depending on your skin.

This is only my opinion. But I feel like the best answer to your question is both yes, and no. This fragrance is amazing in cold weather, and it performs like crazy! I personally am an oversprayer, I'll do about 14 sprays of this fragrance. That is ONLY in the winter/cold nights. If worn in the warmer weather, I'd probably go with 2-3 sprays max. It can be pulled off, but you'll want to go very light on the trigger during the warmer months. Hope that helps!

This fragrance doesn't fix that because it doesn't have the tobacco note. Anyone including myself who loves D&G The One loves it for the tobacco note and the overall smell. When you take out the tobacco note it's over! I don't give a shit about performance. I'll reapply every 3-4 hours, no big deal

@@larry6921 Yeah it will work fine just spray on clothes . The Fragrance isn't loud or cloying. But just spray it that many times an 1hr before you leave anywhere so it settles

The one EDP is soooo much better than the Royal Night...... As for performance... Just carry a decant of EDP and top up as and when needed..... Go for the quality of the EDP blend instead of losing the best ingredient for the sake of performance..... Its a no brainer
