As a general rule, its always worth it to knock the Caliph out with 15 or so macemen if he is this close to your base, since he loves tall towers and uses Arabian bows which are superior to European archers in terms of performance. It takes a little over 1500 gold to purchase equipment and train them and also leaves you with enough melee troops to deal with slave raids from other Caliphs. Also, small water wells are better than large water pots. You can spread them out and have them work independently.

you can basically rush any enemy in any mission in the beginning, but that is not what the game is about :)

@@mkul7ra_xx Not true. You cant rush every mission. That being said, you can turtle up in any game too, but thats not what the game is all about either. Its about devising a working strategy.

@@alamgir5553 Actually, yes you can. There is people that speedrun these missions and they are all pretty identical. Drop a few hovels to prevent them building walls and spam assassins.

@@steady3822 Ive needed about 50 trys to win this mission with game speed 90 and I didnt do it in one go, I saved the game inbetween multiple times. I think, that this is the hardest stronghold crusader mission on game speed 90. The second hardest is misty river (M33).

3 towers for 3 Tower ballistae to defeat catapults quickly. You put them next to the keep so troops can get free access since there are no stairs that can be crumbled. Also to easily protect the lord and your jobless peasants. Defend first, then attack.

Put tower ballistas, like build 2 big towers side by side that can hold a siege machine and put 2 ballistas because ballistas range is much larger than the catapults so you can easily snipe the catapults
