Hello everyone in this video I´m going to discuss about DIVORCE as a filipina who is married with a Spanish national.
There is no divorce in the Philippines, but when a divorce is validly obtained abroad by an alien spouse from his or her Filipino spouse, the Filipino spouse shall have the capacity to remarry under Philippine law. However, the divorce obtained abroad must be passed upon judicially by a Philippine court to prove its validity before the Filipino spouse can remarry under Philippine law.
The decision of the Philippine Court shall become the basis for the annotation of civil registry documents.

I am an American male. I was .married to a Filipina for 20 years. She was living as a US citizen in the US because her father naturalized long ago. I helped her get a divorce. Her cheating husband was in the Philippines. Her divorce was granted here. We never visited the Philippines. We divorced in 2005. She had 4 kids who I raised. We had one together. He is 35. The Philippines needs child support laws. The men in the Philippines are never held accountable for anything. This makes marriage and it's antiquated norms in the Philippines too burdensome.

Thanks for watching my video. There must be an acknowledgment of the divorce of a non-native from the Filipino courts for remarriage to be possible. After the Filipino courts have acknowledged the dissolution of marriage, only then can a Filipino citizen remarry. Annulment is the only solution to divorce in the Philippines. I strongly suggest asking legal advice from a lawyer in the Philippines.

Thanks for watching. Sa Pilipinas po ako kinasal at automatic po na ang kasal ko sa pinas registered and acknowledged po ng Civil registry ng España. Sa Pilipinas wala tayong divorce but since my husband is a foreigner we can file the divorce in his country and that is here in Spain. So ang asawa ko wala siyang problema, sa case ko halimbawa divorce na ako sa Spain then sa Pinas kasal pa din ako. Unless ipapa acknowledge ko ang divorce ko dito diyan sa pinas para ma null/void ang marriage.

Thanks for watching. about your question, The Philippines has no divorce except for among Muslims and when a Filipino is divorced from a foreign spouse. This is not applicable to the majority of married Filipinos. For them, the only two options to dissolve a marriage are through Voidable Marriage or through Void Marriages (commonly called Annulment)
