Hello Sir, One of my friend got married to Canadian citizen 6 years back. They both stayed in india for 3 years during covid time. Then he left to canada saying he will apply for her visa from canada but now they are not willing to apply for her visa. From last 3 years they are saying the visa is in process. Is there anything the girl can do. Like is there any visitor visa or something she can get and go to this there home in canada and see what has changed. I hope you can respond to us.

magandang gabi sir. Andito po ako ngaun sa Alberta Canada. mahigit isang taon na kaming hiwalay na kami ng asawa ko. my BF na sya ngaun. my GF narin ako ngaun. Wala po kaming mga ariarian. my 3 kaming anak. gusto ko sana mag file ng divorce. gusto rin nya mag divorce kami. pwde nyo po ba ako mabigyan ng advice.

Hi @rizadeleon5037 and @roxannecastro6937. It's tricky but it might be possible to file divorce even when you are an international student. The requirement is that you have been habitually resident for at least a year. If you are able to qualify with that requirement then you might be able to file.

Don't think you can. Students have very limited access to Canadian Laws being on a TEMPORARY visa

Hi. I would need more information from you. What might have happened, given the limited info you provided here, is that he might have filed for divorce in Canada and have served you in the Philippines but you did not respond. That way, he would have gotten you noted in default and he could have proceeded with the divorce without your participation.

Hi ..i hope you'll notice my comment....me and my ex husband were divorced 9yrs ago but were both filipino citizen during the time the divorce was releasedl....so i cannot get judicial recognition of divorce in the Philippines.....2017 i become Canadian Citizen is it possible to have my divorce be appeal to have revision on my current citizenship and other information ?so that i can file Judicial recognition in the Philippines?

Hi. You might be able to file a recognition of foreign decree in the Philippines.

Hi Clint. It really depends on the complexity of the divorce proceedings. This includes the issues of child support, spousal support, division of properties, and the other party himself or herself. If there are several issues to be resolved, it will become more expensive.

Hi Marivic. Yes, you can file for divorce even though you are a Temporary Resident Visa holder. As long as you are residing in Canada for at least a year.
